Elizabeth Warren criticizes Bernie Sanders supporters for 'organized nastiness,' saying women who supported her campaign were harassed
"It's not just about me, I think it's a real problem with this online bullying and sort of organized nastiness," Warren said. "I'm talking about some really ugly stuff that went on."

Elizabeth Warren criticized the "organized nastiness" of Bernie Sanders' supporters on Thursday, hours after leaving the race following a disappointing Super Tue day performance and amid a flurry of online calls for her to drop out.

In an MSNBC interview hours after dropping out of the race, Rachel Maddow asked Warren to weigh in on the "untoward attacks by Senator Sanders' supporters...against you." Maddow referenced attacks calling the Massachussetts Senator a "snake" and a "traitor."

After Warren lost every Super Tuesday state, placing no higher than third in any race, she faced online pressure from Sanders' supporters to drop out and endorse him. When Warren ultimately chose to exit the race on Thursday, she did so without making an endorsement. On Twitter, a subset of purported Sanders supporters claimed that Warren was hurting his chances for being the nominee.

"It's not just about me, I think it's a real problem with this online bullying and sort of organized nastiness," Warren said. "I'm talking about some really ugly stuff that went on."

When Maddow asked if Warren if bad behavior online was a particular problem with Sander's supporters, Warren replied affirmatively: "It is. It just is. It's just a factual question, and it is."

As an example, Warren said that before the Nevada caucuses, rogue Sanders supporters attacked women with the labor union Unite Here, "actually published the phone numbers and home addresses of the two women, immigrant women...and really put them in fear for their families."

"These are tough women who run labor organizing campaigns," Warren said, "and yet said for the first time because of this onslaught of online threats that they felt really under attack, and that wasn't the first time it happened."

Sanders has been criticized for the behavior of some of his online supporters,  sometimes referred to as "Bernie Bros" , who have been accused of harassing supporters of other candidates, particularly women.

In a  previous interview with Maddow on Wednesday , Sanders denounced bad behavior by online supporters.

"We don't need ugly, personal attacks against Senator Warren, or anyone else for that measure," Sanders said.

In their respective interviews with Maddow, both Warren and Sanders said they had discussed the matter with each other.

Sanders replied that he was "absolutely aghast" and "disgusted" by people who called Warren a traitor.

I think I've finally found something Liz was right about!

On the other hand, does anyone doubt that she stayed in as long as she did, to hurt Sanders?

sad to see that, per their leaders, the Democratic Party is full of racists and sexists.

Okay, boomer.  Bernie Sanders' base are mostly under age 45 and, believe it or not, more female than male.  The 'Bernie bros' label was coined during the 2016 primaries to downplay the fact that Clinton was less appealing to younger women.  Obviously Elizabeth Warren was less appealing to younger women, too.

Elizabeth Warren tried to be a boomer hippie.  But the younger generations grew up with the Sept. 11 attacks and experienced the Great Recession.  Those Berkeley protests by affluent boomers burning draft cards and bras aren't relevant to the younger generations.  Today's youth aren't affluent enough to be hippies.
