Franklin Graham Warns of 'All-Out Socialism' If Americans Don't Vote and Pray in November
“Socialism is dangerous, and we have a party and many politicians who are flirting with all-out socialism. Portland is an example of what will take place in other cities if Americans do not take a stand in defense of the nation – through the power of the vote,”

Graham is right.  Americans have a lot to lose if the election in November goes wrong.  We should all pray for our country and then vote to prevent a dark socialist future for ourselves.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Evangelist Franklin Graham said Monday the United States is in danger of becoming socialist if Americans don’t vote in November for leaders who “love this country, defend the Constitution” and “support law & order.”

Graham made the comments in a series of tweets. Although he didn’t mention specific candidates or parties by name, his comments were in line with his recent criticism of the Democratic party.

“The chaos erupting in cities controlled by liberal, socialist-leaning leadership should cause great concern,” Graham tweeted. “If this kind of leadership wins in local, state & national elections in November, we'll see more of this, which would lead to the demise of our nation as we know it.”

“I would encourage every person who loves this country to pray & to turn out by the millions to vote. Don’t just watch the news & be depressed – stand up for America! Vote for leaders who love this country, defend the Constitution, & support law & order. Most importantly, pray,” Graham added.

In a later tweet , Graham referenced comments from Jack Brewer, a former NFL player and a professor at the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business. Graham linked to an interview with Brewer, who told Fox News that Americans need to model the non-violent protests of the late Rep. John Lewis, who marched with Martin Luther King Jr.

. @JackBrewerBSI had some important things to say about the state of our nation in a media interview yesterday. He pointed out the contrast between peaceful protests & the violent, destructive protests-turned-riots that we're seeing today.

“These guys had Bibles with him,” Brewer said of the civil rights protesters of the 1960s. “These men and women who marched all praised Jesus and they prayed for their enemies and they loved their enemies and ... when someone cursed them, they replied back with love. And that's what we need to get back to in our nation. I think this is a time to reflect that as we mourn the loss of Congressman Lewis.”

Wrote Graham, “Thank you Jack – God’s Word is the truth that can transform hearts & lives, & it can also transform nations.”

We do need to pray for our nation for 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 solution to our national problems and avoid a slide into the evil of secular socialism.

Funny, but people have probably been praying for our nation since its inception. And yet, we continue to have problems. Seems like prayer isn't doing anything, other than making someone feel like they're doing something.

Also, this is another situation where prayer is expected to result in action.   God is ostensibly omniscient;  He already knows everything so no amount of prayer will change His mind.   So if God is going to take an action (or not take an action) praying to Him is (logically) not going to make a difference.

Prayer tends to have a long track record of failure in that regard.

God is ostensibly omniscient;  He already knows everything so no amount of prayer will change His mind.   So if God is going to take an action (or not take an action) praying to Him is (logically) not going to make a difference.

Indeed. Are we expected to think god will suddenly change his mind (or "Grand Plan") just because someone prays to him? But then, logic tends to be absent where religion is concerned. Prayer is a perfect example of that.

Then that makes your god useless and/or irrelevant.

It's the American people that made this country what it is.

If no one in the country is worshiping, honoring, and praying

Then we might be able to progress and advance farther than ever rather than being held back by superstition and Bronze Age mentality.

Even the Chinese government now admits it.

WHO isn't to be believed also correct?

But behind the scenes, it was a much different story, one of significant delays by China and considerable frustration among WHO officials over not getting the information they needed to fight the spread of the deadly virus, The Associated Press has found.

Despite the plaudits, China in fact sat on releasing the genetic map, or genome, of the virus for more than a week after three different government labs had fully decoded the information. Tight controls on information and competition within the Chinese public health system were to blame, according to dozens of interviews and internal documents.

Chinese government labs only released the genome after another lab published it ahead of authorities on a virologist website on Jan. 11. Even then, China stalled for at least two weeks more on providing WHO with detailed data on patients and cases, according to recordings of internal meetings held by the U.N. health agency through January — all at a time when the outbreak arguably might have been dramatically slowed.

WHO officials were lauding China in public because they wanted to coax more information out of the government, the recordings obtained by the AP suggest. Privately, they complained in meetings the week of Jan. 6 that China was not sharing enough data to assess how effectively the virus spread between people or what risk it posed to the rest of the world, costing valuable time.

“We’re going on very minimal information,” said American epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhove, now WHO’s technical lead for COVID-19, in one internal meeting. “It’s clearly not enough for you to do proper planning.”

“We’re currently at the stage where yes, they’re giving it to us 15 minutes before it appears on CCTV,” said WHO’s top official in China, Dr. Gauden Galea, referring to the state-owned China Central Television, in another meeting.

The story behind the early response to the virus comes at a time when the U.N. health agency is under siege , and has agreed to an independent probe of how the pandemic was handled globally. After repeatedly praising the Chinese response early on, U.S. President Donald Trump has blasted WHO in recent weeks for allegedly colluding with China to hide the extent of the coronavirus crisis. He cut ties with the organization on Friday, jeopardizing the approximately $450 million the U.S. gives every year as WHO’s biggest single donor.

The Chinese government lied and people all over the world died. No amount of leftist spin will change that fact.

Do you want to bet on that?

The wager is already the survival of America, is there really any need to bet more? Just because the 15,000 people who live in your town all have Trump signs on their lawn does not mean Trump is going to win. The vast majority of Americans in the last election and even more in this election will be voting to kick this numb nut moron out of the oval office and all the naysayer's will gnash their teeth and scream to high heaven about how unfair it is doing exactly what they've accused their opponents of doing for the last three and a half years. And rational sane Americans will breathe a sigh of relief and there will be mass celebration in most streets, accept for those towns that prefer to fly confederate flags and swastikas.

Confirmation bias.   You are looking for ways to justify your hope that Trump wins rather than objectively evaluating the evidence.

I am confident that if the polls were reversed you would be trashing Biden daily as a loser.

The reality is that Trump is behind.   And underlying the polls there are factors at play.   He has lost his biggest advantage:  the economy.    He has lost another big advantage:  an electorate the feels comfortable.    He used to be in the position to argue that his presidency has brought forth the ' greatest economy everjrSmiley_90_smiley_image.gif   but now his best argument is that he will bring the economy back and Biden will not.    But his failure to stabilize the USA during this pandemic (especially given his contradictory positions about the seriousness) is a net disadvantage.   People are not comfortable;  people are stressed out over the threat of getting sick and the hardships imposed as a result of dealing with the pandemic.   And Trump gets all the blame because the PotUS always gets the blame and because other nations are doing substantially better than the USA in handling the pandemic.   Biden has no blame for this.

For Trump to win, he needs people to again be comfortable (at least less uncomfortable).   An uncomfortable electorate tends to change the leadership (not working with this guy, let's try the other guy).

Does not look like Trump will restore the economy and ease the discomfort in time to win.   Looks like God wants Biden.

I’m not going to take any risk at all with the left in control of all political power.  Then I’ll transfer more of my traditional IRA and 403b into Roth format and pay taxes at this years rate instead of Biden’s when I actually retire.

especially the kind of socialism where everyone puts what they can afford into a collection plate, in which the proceeds allegedly go to the needy, while the administrators of those funds are usually wealthy beyond imagination and happily serve those in word and deed that protect and perpetuate their tax exempt status.

Actually I have accountability to me available so that I know what every cent I give to my church in tithe and offerings are going to do.  I’m sure most of us believers have similar assurances.

I'm sure that's what religious types say. Especially to ensure fealty or obedience. It does make for a feel good story.

Graham is right.  Americans have a lot to lose if the election in November goes wrong.  We should all pray for our country ...

Wow - I couldn't agree more.

Sad that the apple rolled so far from the tree with Franklin.

I like this definition of Socialism :

Socialism is taxpayer funds being used collectively to benefit society as a whole, despite income, contribution, or ability.

Yep - sounds a lot like Marx - from each according to his ability to each according to his needs.

Ask Americans is they think socialism is a good idea - most will probably say  - no.

Ask Americans if they like, fire departments, free public libraries (sure a check out card costs you a few bucks but you can sit in air conditioning and read all day for free), highways and roads that are not "toll" roads, postal service where you spend 50 cents to mail a letter rather than $8.50, 72% subsidized health care for Congress, VA Heath Care, Social Security, Medicare, FEMA (trust me - when it's working it's great), street lights, public parks (city) ...

Yes - Virginia - that's not Santa Claus - that's the socialism we already have.

Franklin should know - it's like the early church -

Act 2:44-45

All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.

You should read the article from which you got your posted definition of socialism.   The author is claiming everything 'good' is socialism.   It is a ridiculous piece.

Amazing to me that people still go on and on about how some want to turn us into an evil socialist country.

It's not going to happen.

As many times as you try to explain socialism to some people (not pointing to Adam) they still cling to their idea of what it is.

(Yes, not pointing to Adam)

There is so much crap passed about in the USA about socialism;  it is amazing watching people simply repeat slogans and mantras without taking a moment to try to understand what they are talking about.   For example, some people think that our military, the post office, etc. is socialism.   jrSmiley_78_smiley_image.gif     Stubborn ignorance.

Even the most basic notion that socialism is the opposite of capitalism;  that a system based on a capitalist economy cannot, by definition, be socialism escapes (it seems) most everyone.   Public services is NOT a defining characteristic of socialism.

I don't worry about socialism ...

Nor should you.   Socialism (democratic, decentralized control over the resources of the economy) will not exist in the USA during our lifetimes (if ever).

... it is the outright theft by taxation both income tax and inheritance tax if the leftist get total control  it will happen.

You described statism coupled with redistribution of wealth.   You have good reason to worry about this.   This is where our socio-political/economic system is heading.   This is where our culture is heading.   When people call this 'socialism' they lose precision in language.   They have now used a term that is so overloaded with meaning that it means almost nothing.   It is best to fight specifics (e.g. being against expanding the redistribution of wealth already in effect in the USA) rather than fight an amorphous blob labeled 'socialism'.

I suspect he knew what he was talking about.

But if he were here and claimed:  "There is nothing good about socialism." I would ask him to define what he means by 'socialism'.

My bet is that he would have been able to give a straight answer since it is quite possible to give a clear definition of socialism.  That is, if one knows what one is talking about.

Graham is using the socialism scare card because he knows his salary should be considered income like everyone else's and taxed accordingly.  Graham and the rest of the 'religious grifters' abhor helping to support the nation, it's veterans, it's people and it's national cemetery for the fallen.

Graham and the others like him have turned christianity into yet another American hoax.

What is with conservatives fixation on socialism as evil? Police & Fire departments, public roads, bridges & tunnels, Social Security & Medicare, the military, the postal service, garbage collection, the FBI & CIA, libraries, and a hundred other things are socialism. Social Security & Medicare changed the descent into poverty & disease that used to accompany getting old for the majority of Americans into a decent retirement.

Jesus said to help the poor, the sick, the hungry, & the homeless, or face dire consequences. Conservatives are constantly reducing, and would love to eliminate, the socialist programs TANF, Medicaid, SNAP, and housing assistance which greatly alleviate the poor's suffering. In the early 1900s, 53% of Americans were subsistence living, 1/3 of city dwellers were starving. The poor are much better off now, thanks to socialism.

The GI Bill was one of the biggest pieces of socialism ever. It pretty much created the middle class that conservatives love to reminisce about.

My point is the Graham is not in *any* sense a follower of the teachings of Jesus. He supports a party that, at every turn, undoes, or works to undo any of the polices that support the path provided by Jesus. The Golden Rule appears in at least the Gospels of Luke & Matthew. Yet conservatives, through bigoted laws & executive orders, promote discrimination against Muslims, immigrants, and LGBT people. Franklin Graham is nothing like his father, Franklin is simply an opportunist taking advantage of his father's good works.

No, they aren't. All government action is not "socialism". If you define that as socialism, than every government in the history of the world was "socialist."

those are called social services and public works, just because the word social is used here and there does not make it socialism.

socialism is an economic system that has proven time and again it does not work long term.

meanwhile, capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system on earth.   that probably explains why people from socialists countries want to move to the usa and why not many capitalists are moving to venezuela.

the bottom line is simple... the usa will never become a socialist nation.
