Non-Emergency Help
Well, I made an appointment with the "FIREHOUSE-to the rescue", window cleaners, for last Friday at 2:00 pm. By 2:30 pm, they still had not shown up. Meanwhile, we heard the " chirping " of one of our smoke detectors. Fortunately, our local fire department will assist their citizens. We have vaulted ceilings and there is no way that my hubby or I could get on a ladder to change the batteries. I called immediately as they can only show up when they are not on emergency calls so it could be a lengthy waiting time. As luck would have it, they all showed up at 3:00 pm. So, I had a good day - windows were cleaned and the cute firemen changed all the batteries in our smoke alarms.
