It's No FLUKE … A Successful Discussion Depends on Participation!
The first PUBLISHED ARTICLE for which I was paid, was in 1968 in the SALT WATER SPORTSMAN Magazine … twenty-five cents a word … and I think the check I received was for $125, drawn on the National Shawmut Bank Of Boston, in Massachusetts.
It was a personal thrill and milestone to say the least.
The article was on catching "Snapper Bluefish" in the back bays of Atlantic City and Brigantine, New Jersey … salt water bodies … using light fresh water gear.
That was before my love affair with trout streams and fly fishing … and "Catch and Release." Sometimes I would drift the bays for Summer Flounder … also known as FLUKE.
Filleted and stuffed with crab meat … served with scalloped potatoes … and accompanied by Schmidt's (a Philadelphia) Beer … in retrospect … how barbaric …
… and ENJOYABLE!
