Four-in-One … Creative Arts Thursday/Friday
In earlier days of photography, when a photographer wanted to combine two or more separate photos into one, "with some forethought, the photographer could create unique and artsy imagery by adding double exposures to his or her shooting repertoire.
A double exposure is accomplished by exposing the film twice with two different images by simply not advancing the film. With transparencies (actually, translucent slides ), at times, the right combination of slides could be "sandwiched" on one another, then place in a slotted device, connected to a camera, and, photographed on slide or print film and processed as a "new" or derivative image.
But, in the digital photography era , image-editing software can be used to "sandwich" separate images as LAYERS … limitless stacking with each stacked layer adjustable for opacity/transparency, color, contrast … you name it … and ultimately "flattened" into one, new image!
