Larry, Your two picks remind me of a boss that I once had, an older woman that didn't have kids and used to love baking for us. Those two were her specialty pies - no pudding mixes for the banana cream and always fresh whipped cream as a topping. Her berry pies had a lemon crust and she brought vanilla ice cream for those... That was lunch for me. Yum.
LOL... I only eat pie at this time of year, unless someone makes something special for another time [like Key Lime!:] But.....if I have some good berries in the summer, I like to make cobbler...even more calories than the pie.

I love it love it love it-- it is very hard to make, takes hours, and uses every pan in the kitchen, but it is worth it!!!
