Help!

I am experiencing some computer problems and hoping someone can give me a clue.

When I am on The NewsTalkers and attempt to reply or edit, I am instead sent to the top of the page. That's right, every single time I hit the "reply" or "edit" button, I am sent to the top of the page. First started noticing this problem a couple of weeks ago and switched to Internet Explorer (which sucks) and it worked for a few days, now it is doing the same thing.

I can't even respond to my own post here so please, give me your best ideas to give a fella a hand.

:~)

I don't know, Larry. I wish I could be of more help. I've been using IE10, and here on NT it's giving me fits, too. New Laptop, Windows 8.

I think I'm going to try Firefox on this computer and see if it works better-- either that, or its the laptop. Of course, it couldn't be Operator Error... LOL!

Good luck! Smile.gif

My iPad does the same thing, and the only way to fix it is to reboot NT, which is not a big deal for a tablet but is an annoyance. I don't think I've ever had that problem with my desktop or laptop.

Fixed! (kinda)

Went to "page" , went to "compatibility view settings" and enabled it for all pages....works now.

But I cannot find "compatibility view" in Google chrome which i would prefer to use.

So weird.

I am now experiencing problem with the mainroom and private chat here on NT'ers...names are getting all jumbled and not allowing me to chose a particular member...I don't get it. But hey, at least able to participate so I am thankful for that.

No problems with Firefox at all. Perhaps you are cursed. By gypsies.

Something's wrong with this sites programing. Most likely a server-side anomaly.

Windows 7 x64 and Chrome. No issues to speak of. Make sure your browser add-ons like Java are up to date.

Thanks Bruce!

:~)

That makes sense and also something I saw other's mention when researching trying to figure this out.

Try another mouse. Weird things happen when they start to die.

I think you are correct raven.

I made sure I have the latest update of Java Installed and it doesn't matter.

Sorry I missed this Larry,

Although I have no idea of what it is. I have never had it happen to me. I used chrome and I'm on windows xp. I'm not even sure how to report the issue. I am going to do a little searching in the Ning group though.

I had this issue too. But after I reported it it was gone, magic! But it could have also been cause I switched to my Macbook.

I've had this happen in the past but not recently; I assume Perrie will explain what's happening and determine the source and the fix.
