The amazing world of bees

This short video is an informative synopsis of how sophisticated and complex bees are. Their venom kills HIV, they have internal GPS, and they change the electrical charge on flowers so that other bees will know they have already been visited. Cool info.

I've also heard that bee honey does not spoil.

It doesn't. Honey found in the tombs of long dead Pharaohs can be heated up until smooth and eaten safely.

Bees are absolutely fascinating! Thanks for posting this! Smile.gif

Too bad I'm deathly allergic to bee venom, or I'd keep bees...

And the human race would perish without them. (That may not be so bad for the bees)

Many old honey remedies are being rediscovered of late, arthritis, wound treatment etc., good little workers those bees.

Yes, amazing bees, Hal. That is why we need to keep them swarming! Bee populations have been declining globally, almost by 30% annually which is detrimental to agriculture, as we know. Thanks for the informative video - benefits of bees are obviously huge!

Really cool Hal! I love this kind of stuff! Keep it coming!

Here is what I am wondering.

I am very allergic to bees. I have to carry an epipen around at all times, since a single bite could be death to me. I am wondering if that new HIV gel could be used on people like me. I am thinking probably not.

Colony Collapse Syndrome could actually be a world wide disaster. If it continues, it would be a disaster to the world food supply!
