Former football player and veteran sports journalist Frank Gifford has died, his family announced on Sunday. He was 84.
In a statement, his family said:
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, Frank Gifford. Frank died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home. We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being. We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers.
RIP Frank. Prayers for his family and friends.
His family are in my prayers. I'm sad to hear this!
A legend on and off the field!
Peace be with his family!
Frank was a class act all the way, all the time.
I once sat next to him on a flight from NY to LA. He was really a down to earth guy. I was lucky enough to have him in a talkative mood and we discussed everything from his football career to Monday night football to his early growing up days.
RIP Frank, you really were a man of the people.
Peace be with his family! Who obviously loved him dearly.
Oh Kav, how fortunate you are to have met him!
don't think being an announcer came naturally to Frank Gifford, I think you are right.
I didn't know he was married to Kathy Lee!!
