CIA/Torture Whistleblower John Kiriakou Reports to Prison Today
Today, Feb. 28, CIA/torture whistleblower John Kiriakou will report to the Federal Correctional Institute in Loretto, Pennsylvania, to begin a 30-month prison term. Kiriakou's attorney, GAP National Security & Human Rights Director Jesselyn Radack, and NSA whistleblower Tom Drake (who was also charged under the Espionage Act) will accompany Kiriakou to the facility, where he is expected to report by 12:00 p.m.
Initially, the Obama administration charged Kiriakou with violating the Espionage Act. The Obama Justice Department has indicted six whistleblowers under the Act more than all past administrations combined. Late last year, Kiriakou pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act. In exchange, prosecutors dropped all other charges. - http://www.paramuspost.com/article.php/20130301191726527

The Obama administration has made it a priority to publicly prosecute low level whistle-blowers, who should by rights, be commended. While the Teapublicans hate him because he is black and the Democrats overlook his violations of our civil rights because it puts them in power....I see Barack Obama as tool of Corporations.
Corporations hate whistle-blowers.

The problem is, what is "national security?" That term is so subjective as to make it meaningless. Our government has a rich history of committing crimes against humanity in the name of this so-called "national security." If that means protecting the profits of the oil cartels with the blood of our military and innocent people, then the whistle blowers are performing a vital function for the citizen.
