Advice to a young son
Here we are in the Age of the Interwebs . Surely there must be some info out there to solve that age old problem ,what to tell your son about women to prepare him for that eventuality or onslaught .
And after exhaustive searching this is the best I could come up with :
I just couldn't resist adding the embed code ... at this late date .
Perhaps some of you can do better . Please submit your candidate for best advice to a confused young son . It could be musical like mine or not ... maybe even serious . Is it possible someone actually has an adequate answer to this age old puzzle ?!
BTW we should be keeping our collective eyes on the maker of that video , Sharon Bajer . I'm expecting great things from her ...
Well Mike ... after listening to that I'm still confused but now I'm also depressed . Thanks a lot !
OK Mike . After listening to that one I think I know what kind of advice a woman would give . But I think I'm better off being depressed and enlightened [your 1st submission] . However , I'm still inclined to favor my own submission . For the sheer amount of raw data on the subject of women I think it is hard to beat .
Rich,
I am utterly confused. Besides the fact that I wasn't quite expecting aVulcanchick, is she supposed to be an example of what to expect from woman? I thought you were asking for a father giving advice to his son.
That song is a bummer. I can hear Maddy humming the tune from Baltimore.
Stay away!
Perrie ,
It is OK to be utterly confused , as long as you're not udderly confused ...
OK to be serious for a moment , I should have left the son aspect out of it . It should just be advice to a young man . And my submission isn't advice , so much as data , raw data about women to be processed for later understanding .
OK , I really screwed this topic up . It might be just vids that capture the female experience ... I'm so confused !
Thanks for your submission Arch . I think your vid demonstrates the contrary nature of women . It admonishes women to stay away knowing full well they will buy his song and dance to it in droves . Also groupies will flock to him en masse .
Rich,
I've heard two pretty good pieces of advice about women. One was from Ronald Reagan, "Trust but Verify". The other came from a TV program called That 70's Show, some years ago. "When used separately, women and alcohol can be a lot of fun. If you put them together, however, they can turn you into a complete dumbass".
More seriously, you really have to know how old the kid is and how much he can understand (I won't say how much he will accept, they never accept anything that older people tell them).
Mike ,
That is more about a male's reaction to women rather than a general description of the female experience .It should include a woman' "feelings" about a variety of topics . Ugh ... I hope I didn't just invite people to go all Melissa Manchester on me ...
Hey TTGA ,
Thanks . I actually think those might be advice a boy can use . I'm impressed . Now if you just put them to music ...
Ok a little balance:
Mike ,
That goes to the contrary nature of women as Arch pointed out . The more you try to withdraw the more attractive you become ... confusion !
That sounds more profound in Italian ...
So away we go... on how woman think:
OK Mike ,
To sum up ... what Arch posted : This is a man's world .
Holy crap P ... one at a time ! This is gonna take me a while ...
Well I amenthusiastic!
Judging by your choices , it's a good thing you don't have a son to give advice to ...
This is how crazy our women brains are. Complicated is an understatement. There are definitely different levels of crazy. It all depends on the level you can tolerate in a relationship.
I'll add more as I find them.
I think this talk would apply to girl or boy. Minus the gross stuff that women have to go through for a teen boy.
How a woman will make a man feel.
Geez MsA . I get tired just watching her !
" I tried to get this conversation back to frogs ." LOL!
I see the Doors have got their replacement ...
Don't choose me because I am faithful.
Don't choose me because I am kind.
If your heart settles on me, I'm for the taking.
Take me for longing or leave me behind.
I would be, for you, a fire in a rainbow,
I would be, for you, an opening door.
Time and hard lessons are one kind of wisdom.
Try to forget them or love me no more.
Instrumental.
I'm not asking your heart to believe me.
I'm not asking for promise or pledge.
Whatever the answer, it's yes that's the question.
I am the fool dancin' over the edge.
Instrumental.
Ah luvs me that Alison K.
How could you not?!
It's actually rather creepy how much he can channel Jim at times.
Hey ! What happened to the cute green and yellow alien ? And I've seen this figure before somewhere ...
Here's another one that can apply to some.
Can you tell I listen to a variety of music?
I love her seriousness while spewing honesty and sarcasm. She's got a knack for it.
After more than a year I can't believe that the video lseeded only has 123 views ... Doesn't the internet have any musical taste ?!
She's really great-- lots of other great ones as well.
Well, if you want to game the system. just keep hitting refresh (F5) lots of times-- you can manipulate the view count up that way...lol ...sneaky and dishonest, but might be fun if there's a stretch when there's nothing else interesting happenin' here.
Ah ... the good ol' days . Women were fun rather than just illogical ...
Not to put you on the spot ... but did you mean Alison K. or "Speck" ?
Yup ... not adding to the count I see . Doesn't anyone want to see the talented "Speck " ?
"The Talk"... I checked with my Magic 8 Ball and it promptly replied, "Are you serious? Just listen. All teens already know more than you ever will...if you're lucky, you might learn something."
Sadly, that might be true.
Seriously, it would seem to depend on the individual family dynamics and the personalities involved. Not everyone develops at the same time or in the same way.
And here I thought everyone was living the John Travolta / Olivia Newton John thing from Grease ...
There was a definite message, imo, with that movie, beyond the moral implication, it was more of a social message. You also have me remembering I have/had a couple ONJ albums. I didn't care for Disco, but she had a bit of Country in some of her songs that I thought were good.
The morality in Grease was definitely slippery ...
Don't you just love the mystery that is woman?? Petey, a young man ought to have some mysteries to discover in life! Why do you want to ruin that, huh?
The Grump's advice to young men. It's not about the nail. Stop trying to fix it. Shut up and just listen.
Whatever you say will probably be the wrong thing to say. Just sayin'.
Good advice ... or even buy her a nail gun for X-mas ?
I always wondered what happened in the green kitchen ...
If you grew up in a house with a green kitchen, you might be f'ed up, too. Freud thought that, if you painted your bathroom blue, you had experienced potty training trauma. I can grok that.
