Xbox 360 Review: Lollipop Chainsaw
The game stars Juliet, a teenage cheerleader who would conform to the typical blond bimbo stereotype if not for her family history in zombie slaying. Lollipop Chainsaw introduces you to Juliet by panning across her body. Right away, you get the sense that this game is wrongfully inappropriate regardless of the M Rating. Sure its just a video game, but panning across a teenage girls body, even when its digital, is so Japanese Bishjo. On Xbox 360, there is even an Achievement for taking a peak underneath her dress. Juliet is very aware of her sexuality and notes that her friends call her Dad a D.I.L.F. (the daddy version of M.I.L.F.).
Gotta say, some games are kids games, some aren't.
The only thing I really dont like about this game is that James Gunn was involved. He and I dont get along too well. Other than that, I had it in my buy list, but figured I would wait until the inevitable drop in price to somewhere under $20.
Hah, LOL, What's that all about?
Oh, he was butthurt over my review of his movie "Super". We had a back and forth for a little while. Sadly, my review was pretty nice, but as the exchange continued, I started being very detailed and direct in describing the flaws of said movie. I think the nail on the coffin was when I told him the script was obviously written by a scrawny passive aggressive type living out his violent fantasies on screen, and pointed out that the act of buying a bunny because you cant relate to people isnt really profound. There was also the copious stealing from Pulp Fiction as well in the story and script.
Oh that is rich! I'd love to read that review, if it's still around?!
He, he, he.
I tried not to think about that to hard.
:~)
Yes. Here is the original source of consternation, lol.
Lol. There are plenty of peeps with waaaayyyyy more than me. A nice perk though are the ARC's (Advanced Reading Copies) and other free stuff handed to you simply because you are listed as a top reviewer. In fact, I have a little stack of books I havent had time to crack open yet and a number of droid apps and such to check out as well. Mixed bag though, since half the stuff really sux. The funniest one was repeated requests to try for free and review a male enhancement pill. I declined for Shelly's sake.
Milk?
Great review Peter and I agree, it could/should have been MUCH better.
