Thanks! The Friends of Johnson/Magoffin County appreciate your kind thoughts!
I wanted to let all of you know that we are all home, safe and well. Including the car, which freaked out in the middle of nowhere!
I was following a small red truck, when it suddenly stood on its nose, braking hard to avoid the bodies of a small herd of deer, that had been wiped out on the highway. I slammed on the breaks and Rosalie did NOT like it one bit!
The check engine light came on, the cruise control light flashed, and the BRAKE light flashed. On we went, because I had to cell phone service up there in the mountains, to call anyone. Rosalie appeared to work fine, and I met the ladies at Wendy's, to pick up the sweet babies.
Roxie, a sweet young lab mix, and three sickly kitties joined me in my car-- and we started the drive back. I couldn't set the cruise control, and it is very difficult to maintain one's speed up in the mountains. Either I'm cruising along at 95 mph, or 55 mph. Oops.
This is Roxie-- she weighs 25 pounds and is a lab mix of some sort? Her fur on the back is brindled black... She definintely has the hound dog lump on her head!
But all of us made back in one piece. I drove straight to the house to pick up my chief helper, Matthew, and we ran to the store to get a new pooh box for the kitties, etc. I decided on the way home, they should be quarantined from my kitties until I was sure they weren't contagious. My fat boys are too lazy to fight them, but the little ones may have problems with Boo over the food. So, for their comfort, I'm keeping them in our bathroom, where it is warm, and they can have peace.
Somehow, at Feeder Supply, we picked up something that stuck to our tire. On the way home, the car whap, whap, whapped at me and, again, I thought my goose was cooked. But whatever it was came off, and no additional, tire pressure lights flashed, so I guess we're ok...
Roxie is a lab mix and so sweet! She is lying at Matthew's feet right now, and has had a nice supper. The kitties have eaten all their canned food, (2 cans), and have had their milk/formula, and they have dry food, if they can eat it, and water, and a new, soft bed, and their own pooh box, and toys. They are gorgeous!!! Solid white! I think they are all girls, but not sure... Kittens are a bit of a puzzle... I washed the kitten's faces with cotton balls dipped in warm water, but their little eyes are running. VET tomorrow!
I want to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. More than once, I thought my goose was cooked!
I will try to take and post pictures tomorrow!
Thank you!
