Aw, heck... I look in the mirror and can't even put a name to the face I see there! I vaguely recognize a few of these, but it's one of those, "Gee, it looks so familiar but I just can't quite put a finger on it..." cases. Seriously... some of them are tickling a memory cell in my ancient brain, but not one of them can jog me into a name. This happens to me all the time when I'm watching some show on TV. But, at least then I have the name of the show, so I can Google that and eventually come up with a name for the actor. Funny, but I could be standing next to one of these faces in a supermarket and not recognize them. Yikes... is this what it means to be "old?"
#4 looks like Loretta Switt of MASH fame . #8 looks like the guy in "Back to the Future" . #9 looks very familiar but I am having problems with recall . #10 looks like she might be an aging Pam Dawber .
I think you may be right about #4 being Loretta Switt. #9 is nagging at me, because she does look familiar, but I just can't place her in any context that fits. Oh, if only I could be 21 again...
The photo looks like a younger version of what was posted in the article here. I also looked up Loretta Swit, and I'm now absolutely certain that is #4.
Well. Petey did a good job of naming a few; I actually have no clue about most of them, even with the answers above, because I simply never watched a lot of those shows! I never watched Home Improvement , or Night Court , or Baywatch , or Little House on the Prairie , or The Waltons , or Family Ties ! Yeah, I know... they were all very popular in their day, but I was either into news, 24/7, or Sci-Fi... or, worst of all, reading (gulp!) books ! Sigh. But I thoroughly enjoyed this little game and hope to see more like it!
Thanks, dearest Bitey! I ran across an article it had a LOT of child stars-- so I felt like I should include one or two... I used to occasionally watch Home Improvement, and was a faithful watcher of Little House and the Waltons.
Yes, reading is a good thing, and I wish I could do more of it. But, my eyeballs are not what they used to be and I can never seem to block enough time to open a book, anyway. But, I used to read five to eight books per week. Seriously!
BTW: I wish you luck with the hip replacement if you go through with it. Knock wood, but I've been lucky with my bones and joints. Just be absolutely sure that a replacement will be an improvement over the status quo. {{{{{Dowsey}}}}}
Yes! Of late, I've been suffering, unable to rest at all, in any position, at any time. Can't stand, sit, lie down, or walk. Every time it rains, it feels like a railroad spike is being driven into my hip joint. And, of course, it rains every day these days... Every Day.
I can't take steroids, because of my heart. I'm hoping that medication, or physical therapy, or something, other than surgery, will help. Of late, I've been fantasizing about amputation. I could get a bucket type seat, and have a shock absorbed pole, with a wheel on the end of it-- kind of like landing gear on an airplane. It could be like riding a scooter... Sort of...
Oh, dearest Dowsey... you know you are in my prayers. You are truly very, very dear to me! I wish I could wish away your pain... but I CAN wish for you to find a solution that works. If it is a hip replacement, then we'll hope you have the best surgeon and post-op care on the planet! You have my email address, right? Feel free to email me at any time if you need a pep talk or just to vent! Just take care of yourself. For your family and for all of us who love you. {{{{{Dowsey}}}}}
Your wish is my command, dearest Dowsey! Oh, yes! In any event, please get at least a second, and maybe even a third opinion before making a decision. Maybe you can seek out a forum online where hip-replacement patients compare their experiences and results. I don't know anyone who has been through it, or I'd connect you with them. Perhaps online you might have some success. It sure would be nice if you could make your decision while armed with all possible information! I'll never forget how your advice about the heart surgery made me feel a lot better about having to go through it... you were so correct in everything you said! So, I'll be praying for you! {{{{{Dowsey}}}}}
I will post the answers later! Good luck!

Yes, I think it does! I'm the same way!
In one way, it's good not to recognize old friends-- in the way that you can meet them all over again!

Sweet philosophy! Now, let's hope I can remember it!

Upon further reflection I think #9 is Meredith Baxter Birney .
I think you're right. I looked her up here.

If I'm not mistaken #1 is Martin Millner of the TV show Route 66 ... but he has put on a lot of weight .
You've got to get #8-- look at the picture he's holding!!!
OK , you're right . He plays the dad on the Adams Family .
YAY!!!
Answers are up!
I think dear Jethro looks pretty good!

No wonder I didn't recognize #3 . On the show Nightcourt his head was shaved completely bald ...

For me, the only thing that gave it away was his eyes... Honestly!
I didn't get the Baywatch kid, either-- but, I figured someone, somewhere, had to watch Baywatch!

I love you, dearest bitey! I am hoping for a solution that doesn't involve surgery. Please pray for that!

Dowser
Thanks for some good memories of TV shows of days gone by
John Astin and Richard Moll elicited memories of shows I watched regularly in my younger days
Nice family album.
E.
Me, too!
John Astin still looks a bit wild... But I loved his character!!!
I wish!!!
