9-Year-Old Girl Competes In 24-Hour Obstacle Course To Raise Awareness Against Bullying
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Nine-year-old South Florida girl Milla Bizzotto is the youngest competitor in a 24-hour obstacle race designed by the U.S. Navy Seals.
She competed in the race on Friday all in an effort to raise awareness against bullying.
Milla’s focus is unshakable.
To prepare for this event, Milla has been training for nine months, five days a week for three hours a day. Her mission, she says, is to lead a movement she calls it inspiration for the iPad generation.
“I don’t want people to quit because they don’t believe in themselves because someone else says that they can believe in themselves.”
Milla, who was bullied in school, decided to empower herself by training with her dad and coach, Christian Bizzotto.
“I think the bullying thing has died down without her having to take physical action just because her outlook is so much different now that she knows how to defend herself,” her father said.
Bizzotto said, “I used to be super heavy set. I changed my whole life to be an example for her and if she’s an example for other kids that’s mission accomplished.”
This isn’t Milla’s first adult race. She ran the Spartan race with her dad and grandma last year. They crossed the finish line holding hands, a moment frozen in time and emotional even for tough 9-year-old Milla.
With tears in her eyes, she said, “It was a special moment holding her hand and jumping over the fire.”
Christian Bizzotto said at the end of Battlefrog 24, Milla completed 36 miles, six laps and hundreds of obstacle courses.
Good for her.
I coached junior high girl's basketball for 10 years a while back. One of the things that always stood out about it to me is how much more confident kids are, particularly girls, when they take part in organized sports. Something like an obstacle course too. It is extremely helpful for certain kids.

We have noted the same John. For some kids, playing sports allows them to just blossom....a very neat deal.
Good for her.
I agree some sort of organized sport, is wonderful for kids.
