If You Missed 'The People Vs. OJ Simpson' First Time Around , There Is Still Time To See It

The first run on FX ended last week, but good news if you haven't seen it but thought you might want to try it. FX announced a "People Vs. OJ' marathon for this coming Saturday. Check your local listings. The 10 part series is also available for streaming on the FX website.

I have seen the first 8 of the 10 episodes and will watch the last two in the next couple days.

This is a really good show, better than I expected. It has an 8.6 rating on IMDB , which is a very good rating.

The series is "never a dull moment" nostalgia and entertainment for anyone who followed the trial 21 years ago , and is no doubt entertaining even those who are too young to remember the trial.

This is all about the behind the scenes maneuvering by the lawyers, and the media excess in covering the "trial of the century". As you might expect, the "dream team" of Simpson's lawyers are sleazy with a win-at-all-costs mentality, and prosecutor Marcia Clark is a little too cocksure for her own good.

Sarah Paulson gives a star making performance as Marcia Clark, showing both great strength and also an odd fragility , perhaps stemming from the fact that she was going through a brutal divorce during the Simpson trial.

Sterling Brown has an eerie resemblance to the hesitant co-prosecutor Chris Darden, and John Travolta gives a hambone performance for the ages as the impossibly self-centered defense lawyer Robert Shapiro.

Johnny Cochran, F Lee Bailey and Alan Dershowitz are well very well played by the various actors, and David Schwimmer is a standout as Robert Kardasian, OJ's best friend who comes to realize his pal's guilt as the evidence unfolds.

Look for this series to be up for a slew of Emmy nominations in September , particularly for Paulson, and Sterling Brown and Courtney Vance as Johnnie Cochran.

I don't watch a lot of tv, but this is the best show I have seen in a while.

I saw the real one, that was more than enough.

By that logic, there would be no films based on real events. This is a really good tv show.
