What's in a Name?

"NUTHATCH" -- what's that all about? Still looking for the origin of this bird's common name.

Anyway, it makes for an interesting photo.

Is this going to begin with "good morning," end with "good night" and nothing in between.

The curse of the FP in play.

Was the photo taken in your backyard, Mac?

Yes; I took the photo in my back yard; I wasn't happy with the exposure and played around with until it ended up rather "high key" in brightness, but, I liked it and went with it.

It kind of looks like a Chinese embroidery motif.

Happens that way sometimes.

A white breasted nuthatch by any other name is just as sweet and as beautiful...

Wonderful picture!  I like how you highlighted it!
