Two adult elephants rescue calf from drowning at zoo
Tusk you very much.
Incredible video taken at a zoo in South Korea shows two adult elephants coming to the rescue of a baby calf after it fell into the deep end of a pool.
In the footage, a young elephant and an adult elephant are seen standing near the edge of a pool inside the Grand Park Zoo, News.com.au reports .
The pair is calmly sipping on water when the calf accidentally falls into the water. The adult animal and another elephant immediately spring into action using their trunks to try and lift the calf from the water.
When their attempts prove unsuccessful, they dash into the water and push the baby elephant towards the shallow end of the pool and then out of water onto dry land.
In the background, a third elephant is seen pacing around its enclosure clearly troubled by what happened. Thankfully, the situation ended with all the animals safe and out of harm's way.
Some good news for a change.
Very good news. What an amazing display by the adult elephants...
Really cool.
That is totally amazing. Elephants are so intelligent and display such acts of kindness among themselves. And talk about problem solving and teamwork. Outstanding footage.
