Man Whips Out Chainsaw in Middle Of Night to Free Deer Whose Antlers Got Tangled in Tree

Man Whips Out Chainsaw in Middle Of Night to Free Deer Whose Antlers Got Tangled in Tree

It’s strange to see a majestic animal like this stuck in a sticky situation, but luckily, someone stepped up to help the poor critter — with a chainsaw.

Jacob Eing was spending time outside one night when he noticed a group of deer frolicking ahead. At the sight of him, they all fled the scene, except for one.

Because he noticed the deer’s tail kept flopping up and down at a frantic pace, Jacob decided to investigate.

When he finally got near the deer, he discovered that the animal had somehow gotten one of its antlers lodged in a tree.

Jacob tried to free the deer himself, but the antler was stuck. He then ran back home and asked his dad to come help a deer—and to bring his chainsaw.

Even though his dad was a bit confused at the request, he obliged. The two of them then went back to the deer and freed his antlers.

That’s a nice video.  The cynic in me says that those antlers will eventually be hanging on their wall though.

If you were just looking for antlers as a reason to kill the deer then there are some out there that would've taken this opportunity to do it, otherwise if it's for the meat I would advise not to being the animal is stressed and exhausted causing the meat to be tough and have a bad taste from the build up of acids in the deers body.

Well there's a little trivia that I didn't know.  Thanks

If you want a set of antlers, there is no point in killing a deer for the. They shed the antlers every year and grow a completely new set.

That's assuming you can even find them before the rodents eat them and for a matched set good luck, the buck doesn't lose the antlers at the same time and could cover several square miles before dropping the second one.

True, but where I live it's not a huge problem finding a full set of antlers.

I myself don't hunt deer for the antlers, just no good way of making them taste good, I hunt for meat and venison around our area tastes better than beef because they eat better things than the cattle do and we also hunt as a kind of self defense, WAAAY too many deer.  I took a drive just before deer season and guesstimated approximately 500 deer standing and eating in farmers fields in only ten miles of driving and these are only the fields visible from the roads I took.

Yeah, we have plenty of deer around here as well. I don't hunt anymore, but I do talk walks in the timber and find partical or full racks from time to time.
