Trump Defends His Mental Capacity, Calling Himself a ‘Genius’

President Trump, in an extraordinary defense of his mental capacity and fitness for office, described himself on Saturday as a “genius” and “a very stable genius at that.”

In a series of Twitter messages that seemed to respond to revelations in a new book, Mr. Trump defended himself by charting his rise to the presidency, saying one of his chief assets throughout his life was “being, like, really smart.”

Even for a president who has shattered many of the conventions of the office, Mr. Trump’s response to the criticisms in the book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” by Michael Wolff, stood out. The book includes depictions by top White House staff members painting Mr. Trump as an uninformed and at times erratic president.

By taking on the issue so directly, he also ensures that the discussion of his capacity will only intensify. He is set to undergo a physical examination this coming week, but those tests for presidents do not generally involve mental acuity.

Mr. Trump is at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland, this weekend, meeting with Republican leaders, cabinet officials and top aides to discuss the agenda for 2018.

It’s one thing when you blurt out something stupid because you’re put on the spot, but our genius President*, like, prepared these remarks.

Trump is doing what he’s always done . . . promote himself. And he uses cheap sales tactics to do it. People said he was not worth more than $3 billion dollars but Trump ignored it and more than tripled the figure to $10 billion dollars. He then repeated his number over and over until it stuck. His actual proof? Nothing.

He implies that his IQ is 156 and proclaims himself smarter than anybody else in the room. His proof of IQ? Nothing.

He makes one mistake after another but either recasts them as a success or blames somebody else for the failure.

Now a book comes out saying that he’s a moron so he deliberately makes the statement that he’s a genius, knowing full well that the media will repeat it over and over. The media is mocking him, as this article does, but he knows that what will subconsciously stick in people’s minds is the statement that he’s a genius.

By this standard, every old fashioned used car salesman was a genius if he got you to buy a junker.

ummm ... no.  It is impossible than anyone would look at Trump’s statement and eventually conclude he is a genius, at any psychological level.  He is a moron from top to bottom, through and through.

If you took a wannabe dictator and portrayed him in a work of comic fiction as a blowhard buffoon, you would have Trump.

It is testament to the power of hate and psychotic partisanship , and to the power of bigotry, that he still has any followers at all.

"Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book," Trump said on Twitter. "He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job."

The president of the United States has the speech patterns of a 12 year old. Make that a 10 year old.

Funny how he berates Bannon, when Bannon was hand selected by Trump himself to be his chief strategist.  Websters needs to come up with a word stronger than moron and dedicate it to Donald Trump.

Trump perpetually claims that people were crying and begging. I have no knowledge on this one, but it is almost never true.
