President* Says Democrats In Congress Are "Treasonous" Because They Didn't Applaud His Speech

Trump claimed at a rally in Cincinnati on Monday that it was "un-American" that Democrats looked so unhappy during his State of the Union Address last month:

"Even on positive news, really positive news...they were like death. And un-American, un-American. Somebody said treasonous...can we call that treason? Why not...They certainly didn't seem to love our country very much."

Trump gave a highly partisan speech touting his tax law, and attacked Democrats like Sen. Sherrod Brown who voted against it: "Just remember that, he voted against you."

He has lost his mind. Again.

Remember in November what this man is  -  an asshole.   Do we really want that in power?

If, if, if.

More Democratic win predictions--like we have heard in 2012, 2014, and 2016.

Stick with screaming at the sky instead of predictions.

That's not gonna happen. The voters only see Democrats as being anti-Trump and pro illegal immigrant at this point, and that's not likely to win elections.

I'll just leave you with Sen. Tammy Duckworth's tweet about Trump

We don’t live in a dictatorship or a monarchy . I swore an oath—in the military and in the Senate—to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap

So, no funding for a wall or any part of it, and no curbs on immigration. THAT'S why Trump "shot" it down.

Now, let's see if Democrats really want a path to citizenship for dreamers or would rather just oppose Trump.

And just for kicks, will you be among those demanding yet more amnesty when we have a whole new set of illegal alien dreamers in 10-15 years?

trump wants it his way or no way. He is holding everything hostage even wanting a government shutdown all for a wall that will do little to help. Funny that you blame one side as not coming to the table when there has been two bipartisan bills that he shot down and not once put any blame on him. That is what bipartisan is, not everyone gets everything they want.

You see it one way and I see it another.

I see it as it is.

We've played this game before under Reagan--granted amnesty for promises of tighter security that the Democrats never did. We aren't going to rely on Democrats' words this time--we want it in a bill.

Unless Democrats weren't serious about wanting a path to citizenship for dreamers--which Trump said 1.8 million--even more than Dems proposed or they just want to oppose Trump at any and all costs.
The shutdown was on Dems--and the whole country got to see who was more important to the Dems--illegal aliens or their very own US citizen constituents. BTW, we all saw that Dems favored illegal aliens over US citizens. You can't even begin to spin that away.

Oh surely the republicans never had a chance to do any immigration reform in thirty plus years. Give me a break with that tired old line.

we all saw that Dems favored illegal aliens over US citizens.

Bullshit. It seems all that you have is tired old memes and worn out talking points. The my way or the highway crap being lauded is exactly what it is. Some people do not want any bipartisanship and it clearly shows.

Why is this so important now? Oh yeah, because trump promised a wall by playing on peoples fears and he will stop at nothing until he has his wall just so he can tout it as an accomplishment.

For thirty plus years this never seemed to be that important for most republicans, they have had plenty of chances to act. Of course dear leader says that it is armageddon all of the sudden so the faithful must act like not doing anything right now is the end of the world as we know it.

As for your second comment, any bill that would be bipartisan would have Democrats and republicans that would not vote for it. They would not put a bill before the president that they could not override his veto. You know this as well as I do but it seems some would rather play games.

No games----simple fact.

And while you are asking about the GOP passing something, why didn't Democrats when they were the majority?

Are you going to want yet another round of amnesty for illegal aliens in 10-15 years?

I'm betting yes, and you'll use the same tired argument as you do now.

So the republicans think this is the most important thing right now and are willing to let the government shut down over it (then blame the Dems) yet have not done anything about it in thirty plus years and your excuse is...why didn't the dems do anything?

Really? That is basically saying, I have a problem, you take care of it.

As for 10 to 15 years from now that too should have or could have been talked about or taken care of years ago.

I am sure the GOP would like to see the promises made prior by Democrats met.

We HAVE immigration laws, and I for one support stricter enforcement of those laws.

Democrats seem to be the ones clamoring for us to DO something about illegal aliens already here. We have tried amnesty enough, time to switch to something different now. If we do NOT protect our borders better, in another 10-15 years, we will be hearing all the same sob stories about how the 'dreamers" were brought here and should face no consequences. You'll want them to have a path to citizenship, too. The cycle won't end if we keep doing the same dumb-ass things.

I am sure the gop would love to keep shutting the government down (or threatening to) to use as a crutch for the midterms.

As far as immigration goes I am going to take a cue from you and a play out of the gop handbook (on gun control)

Enforce the laws we have now. Pilling new laws on the old helps nothing if none of them are enforced.

So in a way, I agree with you.

United States federal government shutdown of 2018 - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_government_shutdown_of_2018

The 2018 shutdown of the United States federal government began at midnight EST on Saturday, January 20, 2018, and ended on the evening of Monday, January 22. ... Forty-five Republicans were joined by five Democrats in voting yes to the cloture motion on the resolution, while four Republicans voted against cloture.

What is spin is blaming one side of the isle when they are all at fault. What is spin is denying the actions and words of the president. Denying that he would love a government shutdown unless he gets everything he wants. What is spin is me saying that I should take a cue from the gop and agree with them about enforcing laws already on the books and one goes to Obama.

I brought up Obama because you brought up gun control laws, and how you were for full enforcement of them. I merely pointed out Obama didn't do anymore enforcing regarding gun laws than any other President.

It is not the Dems that put a time limit on DACA. It is not the Dems that are unwilling to negotiate. It is not the Dems that say give me a wall or no deal. It is not the Dems saying, I would love a government shutdown.

I merely pointed out Obama didn't do anymore enforcing regarding gun laws than any other President.

One thing you are correct about. None of them, be it Rep or Dem have done anything. After saying such, I don't understand how one can put blame solely on one side.

What is wrong with a time limit to force legislation? If no legislation is passed, then we remain under current immigration law. No problem as long as it is enforced.

Trump offered amnesty and a path to citizenship in exchange for tighter security and a wall. If the Dems don't compromise on that, what WILL they compromise on?

If the Dems don't compromise on that

This is where we differ. How is that even a compromise? It is basically trump saying give me what I want while holding the people on DACA hostage. As I said they came up with two separate bills that neither side were completely happy with. It is trump holding it up so he can get exactly what he wants, which is zero compromise.

Compromise means both sides give and take. Not just one.

Dems will get their pet project--a path to citizenship for dreamers--which is not guaranteed currently by any law. In exchange, they give in on the wall and border security.

THAT'S what compromise is. Both sides get some of what they want.

It will be fun to hear Democrats try to explain why they wouldn't vote for a path to citizenship for some 1.8 million people here illegally after having shut down the government, claiming that is what they wanted.

You people crack me up. You want yet more amnesty now, and in 10-15 years, I am sure you will want yet another round of it for the whole new set of "dreamers" we'll have because Democrats don't want to discourage illegal aliens from coming here.

As Hillary proclaimed---open borders!

What is pure comedy is when the Democrats accused Candidate Trump of treason the press run with it pushing a false narrative, President Trump jokes about it being treasonous and all the snowflakes start crying again.

The crybaby left needs to just get over hilarious Hillary's loss. Trump just might be your President for 7 more years.

The democrats brought illegal aliens to the SOTU speech. Trump should have filled the place with clapping ICE agents and really given them something to pout about.
