It doesn't make clear any such thing. You could easily argue that it implies the developing baby is a parasite - a fake science claim that some people have tried to make right here on NT. This is so obvious, the writer even mentions it:
In fact, the quotes for the guy in this very article make clear that he sees it as a balancing act and there isn't one body that clearly matters more than the other. i.e.:
Yep! That sounds like a person who is trying have a balanced perspective on the issue. He "clearly" hasn't decided that one is more important than the other. That's why it's such a tough issue for so many people.
So, in the end, this article contradicts itself. It's a mess. The writer badly wants to be outraged because . . . mah politiks! mah feels! Too bad the facts in front of her don't support it.
