Turns out desecration is no crime in New York City.

The Queens man arrested for scarring the landmarked facade of St. Patrick's Cathedral during a George Floyd protest is now free — because the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to prosecute him.

Yadir Avila Rosas, 26, was taken into custody at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, an NYPD spokeswoman told The Post.

Police charged Rosas with criminal mischief in the third degree and making graffiti, alleging that he was the "getaway driver" for two women who tagged the famous house of worship with spray-painted slogans on May 30.

But an expected Saturday afternoon arraignment never happened, at the DA office's discretion.

The two women wanted for questioning in regard to the graffiti at St. Patrick's Cathedral.DCPI

Cops are still looking for the two female suspects who marked the stone stairs of the cathedral and two walls flanking its entrance at Fifth Avenue and 51st Street with expletives and with messages like "No Justice No Peace" and "BLM," for Black Lives Matter.

The New York Archdiocese did not respond to a request for comment.

Sounds like the DA probably has a huge future in Democratic politics.

Sad.

It's funny because it was a Democrat failure lead to the riots.

Amy Klobuchar once failed to prosecute Derek Chauvin, cop in Floyd death

Sounds like the DA knew that trying to prosecute a guy who didn't actually cause any vandalism or commit any crime would be a losing case. This guy was just accused by police of being the "getaway driver" for two female vandalism suspects that are still at large.

Sounds more like aiding and abetting to me.

Yep, clearly, at minimum, an accessory to the crime.

In contrast, at a protest near me this weekend a guy threw a rock at a truck with a Trump sticker.   Other protestors ran him down and held him until the cops got there.   They are throwing the book at the prick.

Good on the law abiding protestors who ran him down.   That is how a good protest in done.

This is what you get when you vote in liberal law enforcement thereby enabling the bad players to continue with their illegal hijinx
