Elections are funny things.   The polls certainly indicate Trump will lose, but I think more in terms of the fundamental factors.

Trump has a chance for reelection if:

  • the stress from COVID-19 magically dissipates by election time and the economy continues to improve
  • Biden implodes during the debate to the point where the people worry about his mental fitness for office
  • an October surprise with teeth is pulled off (I do not know what this might be)

Other than that, it seems to me that Trump is going to be a one-term president.
