The First Presidential Debate: Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump (Full Debate)
Presidential nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton face off in the first of three scheduled presidential debates from Hofstra University.
The first debate is likely to make the biggest difference, if any, in the 2020 election.
To me it is interesting to watch the first 2016 presidential debate imagining Biden in place of Clinton (who was largely unflappable).
Trump will still be Trump, but he now has a record that Biden can criticize (and, of course, one that Trump can present in its most positive light).
Substitute Biden for Clinton. How will debate number one in 2020 unfold?
Biden is showing himself interesting, focused, and effective against the stupid charge (by Trump propagandists) of him being way too old and out of touch. I remind everybody that Justice Ginsburg served in a government capacity up until 3 years shy of 90! And many of our senate and house members are in their 80's.
Just watch Biden during his townhall and other messaging outings. Donald Trump is fact-checked by CNN's Daniel Dale and finds, "so much lying." The DNC's candidate Joe Biden is not as fact-checked, because nominal mistakes and inaccurate statements are not as shocking bad:
Joe will be critical and factual. The next day, his detractors will say he is driving a socialist tractor into the sea of China.
Trump will be bombastic, trying to ignore the deficit, unemployment and the pandemic all the while reviving the MAGA theme,
"we did it once, we can do it again." His detractors will be apoplectic that anyone can support Trump.
09/30/2020 will be just another exotic day on NT. /s
I don't think it will matter much. The donald supporters will cheer everything he says.
Some people are already going into it with a preconceived notion (that they have been pushing for weeks) about how Biden will act.
They will not listen to what Biden says, only cheer on what donald does not say...
On the other hand, the donald detractors are never going to even want to listen to what he has to say. Myself included. He has said it all before, plus his voice gets on my nerves.
