On CNN Monday, legendary Watergate reported Carl Bernstein broke down how outgoing President Donald Trump's final week in office differs from the end of Richard Nixon's presidency.

"Carl, [Nixon and Trump] are both leaving in shame and anonymity," said anchor John Berman. "What is the comparison?"

"No comparison," said Bernstein. "Richard Nixon isn't a madman. These pictures that you have shown this morning, we have been looking at the landscape of Trumpism. A map of his mind and what the logical result of his mindset and sensibilities are. Who is Donald Trump? We now know he is a seditious, uncontrolled, out-of-control madman. That's what we have seen. We haven't seen anything in the history of the United States presidency such as we witnessed in these final days. The final days of Donald trump are something that is so out of total comparison to anything in the history of this democracy."

"He is an autocrat," said Bernstein. "He has no command of his own faculties at this point, according to those closest to him, who are surrounding him. They're trying to put him in a constitutional straitjacket in these last days because of his total inability to govern as the president of the United States with sanity, with sensibility. And also he is a criminal president. Nixon was a criminal president. He is a constitutional criminal and we are seeing every evidence of it as he leaves office. Let's hope the next few days as he leaves that nothing terrible, more terrible than what we have seen occurs."

He is a horrible person to the core, the personification of every negative human trait, and genuinely one of the worst people to ever live.

Exactly.   There simply is no denying that Trump actively tried to steal this election;  actively used his power and influence as PotUS using lies and unethical practices to defraud the people of this nation.

Yet the sycophants continue to defend this lying, cheating sack of shit con man who now leaves office a defeated clown.

And sparked an insurrection against the government.

Even though we will finally be rid of *president* Trump on the 20th, I'm very afraid that we will not be rid of citizen Trump or rabid Trumpism anytime soon.

Yeah, I expect them to be standing by and doubling down on their support of Trump.   They will wear any and all criticism as a badge of honor.   They will insist that Trump is the greatest PotUS ever and will continue to chant "stop the steal" and "Trump 2024" while the rational world points and shakes its collective head in disgust (and pity).

Unfortunately, you might be correct.

I wonder how Trump supporters would feel if they were a person wrongfully accused of rape when the man knowing they were innocent incited rioters to come down the court house to hang them before the evidence clearing them could be presented. And the reason the liar incited the mob to attack his opponent was obviously for him to remain in a position of power.

“We’re going to walk down to the court house, and we’re going to cheer on our brave judges who are willing to convict this rapist, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them, because you’ll never get justice with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”

“When you catch somebody raping your daughter, you are allowed to go by very different rules."

We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s rape involved. Our daughters have had enough. We will not take it anymore, and that is what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the rape!

“You will have illegitimate justice. That is what you will have, and we can’t let that happen. These are the facts that you won’t hear from the fake news media. It’s all part of the suppression effort. They don’t want to talk about it. They don’t want to talk about it. …

“We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country of justice anymore!

All the evidence proves the accused innocent, yet a loud mouthed liar who doesn't take part in the lynching would definitely be guilty of inciting the mob and should obviously be held responsible for the murder of the innocent accused.

Democrats and rational Republicans were falsely accused of stealing an election and a liar incited a mob to go take action, telling them no one else would if they didn't and that rules don't apply to them. Obviously the liar who incited the mob to violence should be held accountable even if they didn't take part in the violence themselves. Those trying to defend the liar are only doing so because they have been bamboozled, they were gullible enough to believe the liar and are unwilling to admit their gullibility and culpability because it's embarrassing and makes them look like the weak sniveling schmucks they are.
