Tucker Carlson, 'Have You Been Vaccinated?' Dr. Reiner Blasts 'Saboteur' Fox News Host
Tucker Carlson faced backlash after he said thousands of people had died after they received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Jonathan Reiner challenged Tucker Carlson to tell his viewers whether he has been vaccinated after the Fox News host claimed thousands had died after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

The doctor's comments came after Carlson suggested last week that a higher-than-normal number of Americans had died after receiving the vaccine since last year.

During the Wednesday night episode of the Tucker Carlson Tonight show, the host said: "Between late December of 2020 and last month, a total of 3,362 people apparently died after getting the COVID vaccine in the United States.

"That's an average of roughly 30 people every day."

He continued: "It's clear that what is happening now, for whatever reason, is not even close to normal. It is not even close to what we see in previous years with previous vaccines. Most vaccines are not accused of killing large numbers of people."

Appearing on a segment with CNN anchor Jim Acosta on Sunday, Reiner hit out at the Fox News host's comments about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Reiner said: "I think he's really a saboteur, that's what I think of Tucker Carlson. Every night he has a million questions about this vaccine and, somehow, magically he has no one on his show that can answer these questions.

"I'm willing to answer these questions and I have two questions for Tucker Carlson. Number 1, have you been vaccinated and number 2, why won't you tell your audience whether you've been vaccinated."

"I'm tired of his nonsense," he added.

Carlson's comments about vaccine deaths sparked a backlash and the host even drew fire from Fox News contributors, though he was not directly named.

Hours after Carlson made his comments, Fox News contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier tweeted: "It's intriguing the people who claim COVID deaths were overinflated from concomitant illness are the same people who are saying people dying after the vaccine are dying from the vaccine and not because we vaccinated the most elderly, frail, sick individuals with short life spans."

Every medication, medical treatment and vaccine pose risks, as does getting in your car every day. It is crucial there is transparency on the risks with a thoughtful discussion of risk v benefits before engaging in anything. — Nicole Saphier, MD (@NBSaphierMD) May 6, 2021

She added: "Every medication, medical treatment and vaccine pose risks, as does getting in your car every day. It is crucial there is transparency on the risks with a thoughtful discussion of risk v benefits before engaging in anything."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said the vaccines are "safe and effective" and added each reported death is reviewed and assessed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its own physicians.

It added: "A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy and medical records has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines.

"However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused deaths."

The CDC has recorded that more than 245 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in the U.S. from December 14, 2020, to May 3, 2021.

Over this period there were 4,178 reported deaths (0.0017 percent) among those who had the vaccine.

It is not the first time Carlson has courted controversy, with Dr. Anthony Fauci remarking last month that the Fox News host had spread a "crazy conspiracy theory" about COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness.

He also drew fire after defending Joe Rogan after the podcast host previously suggested young people should avoid getting the COVID vaccine, a comment he would later roll back in a later edition of his podcast.

There is a GOP nutcase in Arizona who is claiming that 40,000 people have become "potted plants" after receiving the vaccine so I guess Tucker Carlson is a moderate in that regard.

An Arizona GOP official made unverified claims that COVID vaccine turns people into 'potted plants' (yahoo.com)

An elected GOP official in Arizona is peddling a false claim that the COVID vaccine not only causes death but turns those who receive the jab into "potted plants."

Jim O'Connor - a state corporation commissioner who was   elected in November to oversee companies in charge of utilities like electricity and water   - claimed in an interview with local news outlet the   Arizona Republic   on Saturday that the government was hiding numbers of vaccine-related deaths and serious side effects.

"I'm also aware through other information that many people who have taken the shot, many thousands of people here in the US, are deceased. And the deceased part is the good news. And please don't take that out of context," O'Connor told Ryan Randazzo of the Arizona Republic.

"But the alternative to being deceased after the shot, there are something like 40,000 plus recorded cases of people that are now potted plants. They are human vegetables. They've lost their ability to function," he said.

There is no clinical evidence to support O'Connor's claims, and it is unclear where O'Connor obtained the case numbers he cited of people going into a vegetative state after receiving the COVID vaccine. O'Connor's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider.

O'Connor did not cite any database or official source to support his claims. But when the Arizona Republic pressed the official on where he was getting this information from, he referenced Ryan Cole - an Idaho-based physician who   made false COVID claims   in March this year.

I don't know, calling Tucker a "potted plant" would be accurate in many ways.  I'm guessing that he has received the vaccine.

O'Connor maybe right ... I've been a Clivia since early March and expect to bloom in July.

But that doesn’t mean any of those people died as a result of getting the vaccine. If you get the vaccine and then you’re hit by a bus, or die from cancer you already had, or have the heart attack you would have had anyway, your death goes into the database as one of these deaths of “people who died after getting the vaccine.”

I hate that the data is being released this way because morons and dickheads use it to say the vaccine is killing people. It might be for a handful of people, but not to the tune of thousands of people.

Even if true I just look at the numbers...

3k deaths compared to 600k deaths.

True. To show what I am taking about, in the Moderna trials, they reported that 13 people in the study had died. However, the report went on to clarify that only 6 of the 13 actually got the vaccine, and then detailed exactly what each of those people died from. None of them died from the vaccine. Things like suicide, head trauma from a fall, or drug overdose get included in the number of deaths.

Serious Adverse Events
Deaths
As of December 3, 2020, 13 deaths were reported (6 vaccine, 7 placebo). Two deaths in the vaccine group were in participants >75 years of age with pre-existing cardiac disease; one participant died of cardiopulmonary arrest 21 days after dose 1, and one participant died of myocardial infarction 45 days after dose 2. Another two vaccine recipients were found deceased at home, and the cause of these deaths is uncertain: a 70-year-old participant with cardiac disease was found deceased 57 days after dose 2, and a 56-year-old participant with hypertension, chronic back pain being treated with opioid medication died 37 days after dose 1 (The official cause of death was listed as head trauma). One case was a 72-year-old vaccine recipient with Crohn’s disease and short bowel syndrome who was hospitalized for thrombocytopenia and acute kidney failure due to obstructive nephrolithiasis 40 days after dose 2 and developed complications resulting in multiorgan failure and death. One vaccine recipient died of suicide 21 days after dose 1. The placebo recipients died from myocardial infarction (n=3), intra-abdominal perforation (n=1), systemic inflammatory response syndrome in the setting of known malignancy (n=1), COVID-19 (n=1), and unknown cause (n=1). These deaths represent events and rates that occur in the general population of individuals in these age groups.

That’s not to say the vaccine couldn’t possibly kill anyone ever, but it does show how easily the numbers can be misused.
