Sen. Josh Hawley Calls Critical Race Theory 'State Sanctioned Racism'
"I'm worried that President Biden is nominating for federal office individuals who do not share a view of America as a good and decent place, who do not believe that the history of this nation is worth celebrating."

Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley called out Critical Race Theory as divisive and un-American on the Senate floor on Tuesday morning.
Hawley drew on his own experience in higher education. He worked as an associate professor at the University of Missouri School of Law at one point.

'State-Sanctioned Racism': Hawley Brings CRT 101 to the Senate Floor
In a floor speech Tuesday morning, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) delivered a scorching rebuke of Critical Race Theory and "those things that divide us," as the Biden administration tightens its embrace of critical theory and its proponents.
"Service to this country is an act of selflessness that affirms our nation is a place worth believing in. But I'm concerned that the present administration and this president, President Joe Biden, do not share this point of view. I'm worried that President Biden is nominating for federal office individuals who do not share a view of America as a good and decent place, who do not believe that the history of this nation is worth celebrating. Nominating instead people who believe that this is a country founded in racism and shot through with corruption."…
"As someone who has taught in our nation's universities, someone who has seen our institutions of higher learning up close," Hawley reflected, "I would say to those in the media and elsewhere who now deny that there is any such thing as critical theory, that critical theory is in fact very real, it is very influential."
Hawley was addressing Biden's nomination of Kiran Ahuja to the Office of Personnel Management.
Ronn Blitzer reports at FOX News:
In opposing Biden nominee, Hawley says critical race theory has become admin's 'animating ideology'
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., railed against critical race theory, expressing concern that it is influencing the inner workings of the Biden administration as he opposed the nomination of Kiran Ahuja as director of the Office of Personnel Management.
In remarks on the Senate floor Tuesday morning, Hawley accused President Biden of nominating people "who do not believe that the history of this nation is worth celebrating," but that the U.S. is "systemically racist" and unjust.
"It appears to have become the animating ideology of this administration," Hawley said.
The diatribe was in opposition to Ahuja, who Republicans have accused of promoting critical race theory.
In 2018, Ahuja's nonprofit Philanthropy Northwest hosted Ibram X. Kendi, an anti-racism activist and advocate for critical race theory, at a forum. In his Tuesday address, Hawley cited Kendi, author of "How to Be an Antiracist," as writing, "The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination."

Here's a more extended version:
Hawley is correct in his assessment of CRT. His willingness to speak so frankly about the issue is one reason the left despises him.
The problem with critical theory is that it is designed to divide and tear down - the family, religious faith, and American history (like the 1619 Project). We need to be about building up & renewing those things that bind us together as Americans https://t.co/RN7v1G80g9

There is a fundamental disconnect between various groups of people when it comes to what the country was founded on, and who it was founded for. The exact same people who dont even want to hear about slavery changing America for the worse beginning in 1619 instead want us to glorify the all white Founding Fathers. They love history when it is sunny and shows us how industrious studious and brave the Europeans who founded America were, but they object to history that portrays a monstrous evil that also includes the treatment of the native peoples of North America, and also women , who had few individual rights in the colonies.
One has to ask what are white people so afraid of, since they weren't alive then and are thus personally innocent of any wrongdoings prior to their birth.
If people are afraid to talk about what the nation did wrong over the past 500 years then we should stop insisting that everyone revere the "Founding Fathers" . You are not going to have it both ways.
Like I care what that seditious traitor has to say.
Yup, that POS is complicit in 1/6/21.
Meh ... Critical Rube Theory.
lost cause 2.0 hanging their hats on racism, how utterly shocking...
I like what the General had to say to the pervert Gates.
All Gates could do is shake his head like an idiot.
Hawley is particularly odious.
He was Phi Beta Kappa at Stanford. He spent a year at in London at St Paul's School, and finally got a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
He clearly isn't stupid. Which means that when he lies, it's probably not an error. He knows exactly what he's doing.
And... let's never forget Hawley's salute to the mob that was about to attack the Congress of the United States...
To be fair, I have seen some really smart people that have zero common sense.
there's a few like that in my family. years of education, but we don't let them drive with any passengers.
