DC Mayor Bowser officiates maskless indoor wedding after reinstated mask mandate
Fewer than 24 hours after Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser celebrated her 49th birthday with a DJ and comedian Dave Chappelle, she officiated a wedding at The Line DC, a four-star hotel in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of the city.

Despite the mayor's order, the wedding reception featured hundreds of unmasked guests served by dozens of wait staff, including a conspicuously unmasked Bowser.

Bowser, who was not sitting at the table designated for her during wedding toasts, did not wear a mask despite not actively eating or drinking. When approached by the Washington Examiner to explain why she was maskless at an event now legally obligated to enforce mask compliance, security blockaded the free press.

At least 3 out of 5 adults in the district and 3 in 4 seniors have been vaccinated. Even with the delta variant of the coronavirus, vaccination has proven eminently effective, even more so than masks. Of the nearly 400,000 district residents fully vaccinated against the pandemic, just four (all of whom were elderly or had preexisting conditions) died.

Another Democrat with the "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude.

Foggy Bottom!

Sounds like something I get after eating a plate full of refried beans.

Newsome here in California did pretty much the exact same thing.  Certainly plenty of that going around in both parties.

They're all the same.  It's all about control.  Controlling you that is.

Speaking of DC.....

I've just been informed that my son is taking us all out to a DC steak house to remain unnamed until we get there.

Uhmmm....  Capitol Grill?  Bourbon Steak?  Mortons?

Hell I don't care as long as it's on his dime this time.  Hopefully, he's made reservations since a group of ten walk-ins would be hard for any place to seat.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend and stay safe.

Eh..   another example of partisan politics in action IMO. If she's been vaccinated then I don't care all that much if she wears a mask or not. While everybody is pushing fear that someone who is vaccinated, and by that vaccination does have a much lower risk of catching the virus in the first place,  just might pass along enough virus to infect non-immunized people,  I feel the people who didn't get their shots made their choices and they have to deal with the consequences.  The numbers of break-thru infections for vaccinated people is still very low, the risk of a vaccinated person having a virus load large enough to spread and infect other people is very low. IMO continuing to push a mask mandate to protect the unvaccinated is only helping to slow the vaccination process and prolong this pandemic.
