Thousands Of Students Quarantined After COVID Exposure Just Days Into School Year

Thousands of students across the nation are already in quarantine amid COVID-19 outbreaks just days into the new school year. The alarming numbers are emerging amid soaring cases of the delta variant of COVID, particularly in states with low vaccination rates, and where governors and state legislatures have banned mask mandates.

More than 10,000 students and staff members across 14 states have been exposed to the coronavirus since school started.

Close to 4,400 students in Mississippi — where Gov. Tate Reeves (R) has refused to issue a mask mandate — have been quarantined after at least 800 tested positive for COVID at the start of the school year. One district in the state suspended all in-person teaching after ordering 40% of its total student population into quarantine.

More than 1,000 students in Palm Beach County, Florida, were also sent home to quarantine by the end of the first week of school on Friday after 134 cases of COVID were detected, CBS News reported. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has banned mask mandates at public schools. As for the delta variant, DeSantis said earlier this week that Floridians just have to “deal with” it without mandated safety precautions, even as this strain of the disease is infecting far more children and more seriously.

Palm Beach County schools Superintendent Michael Burke told MSNBC: “The governor’s got to take responsibility for establishing the ground rules we’re operating under. This ability for families to opt out [of masks] is leading to more cases, which is ultimately going to send more kids home and deprive them of the typical classroom experience.”

Left wing run county.

And a known cheating in elections one, too.

Thousands of parents:

Yaaay!  We finally get to send the kids to school!

School admins:

Not only are your kids coming home but you have to quarantine with them.  Good for you.

In Florida, our governor, DeSantis, said that we have to learn to live with covid. Brilliant comment coming from a governor when Palm Beach County School District has 1,000 kids and staff parents quarantined with Covid. I'm sure that is just the beginning as more schools open this coming Monday.

Because he is right. It will eventually be just like the flu where we will probably have to get yearly boosters....just like we do with the flu shot.

Since we have a 50% fully vaccinated population he is right in the context that we have a lot of stupid people that will never get vaccinated so we will live and in many cases die from the stupidity. Not making masks mandatory in schools, especially currently when no one under 12 can get the vaccine is ignorant.

So a thousand kids, school employees and parents are quarantined, currently, that is just great for the kids and their parents. Instead of being able to complete a school year a lot of those kids are going to be struggling and there is the other fallout like lost wages for parents etc etc.

But WTF, learn to live with it because of ignorant asses.

That's right, and it has been shown many times that it is the African American population that is holding back the rest of the population in getting good vaccination numbers.

Seems the left has a serious problem with not only their base, but with counties they run...ie...Palm Beach.

Leave your feelings aside. COVID will be around for a very long time, even if 90 percent of the population gets vaccinated. It is just like the flu. We will be getting booster shots soon, I'm sure, just like the flu shot.
