Note that, even when confronted with the FACT that he had been wrong, repeatedly... the denialist continues to deny.

... ... and no... he is not one of NT's usual suspects, even if he resembles them so closely...

It is important for all reasonable people to understand that a denialist -- being divorced from reality to begin with -- will not be affected by reality, not matter how brutally it proves them wrong. Any and all "debate" with a denialist is a waste of time, unless there are third-party observers who may be open to learning.

Santelli has denigrated "Main Street" for years. He is the consummate apologist for Wall Street.

He is the consummate apologist for Wall Street.

Yes. But there are a lot of them.

What is fascinating here is his being absolutely impervious to facts. And the way his head explodes when he cannot avoid facts.

The key is in the simultaneity of the two men's images: the one calmly stating fact, and the other going crazy trying to deny, deny, deny...

It's no accident that deniers never stay on-topic. They cannot, because they will be required to face facts, to face reality... and they know that their heads will explode! 41.gif 41.gif 41.gif

He was a floor trader before he was a pundit.

The seasoned economists are wrong with some degree of frequency. The difference there is that they don't shout, but merely explain away why their prognostications missed, and how they were "too early" or "too late", but still right.

Ricky cut his teeth in the pits. No such polish there. It's all streetfighting.

Are you saying that his reaction is OK?

You did see that he has been wrong all the time, didn't you? This isn't just a question of manners. This guy who screams across the antenna... is wrong!

The seasoned economists are wrong with some degree of frequency.

What is "some degree"?? Is that the same as "nobody's perfect"? Or is it the same as "they're just as often wrong as Santelli"?

And...which "seasoned economists" are you talking about? Saltwater or freshwater? Do you know those terms? Do you have any basis whatsoever for speaking of what "seasoned economists" say?? Or are you blowing smoke?

But what is reality Bob?

Reality is but rationalized perception from a singular point of view.

AND, it is only valid to the person that rationalized it.

Truth is what is important, and on that basis, everyone on wall street has been wrong and an apologist for their manipulations.

Wow, Bob.

I had no idea that you'd have reacted in such a hostile manner to a seemingly non-controversial post.

No, Bob. His reaction is not OK. I don't see in my post where I claimed it was. I did say that he reacts to being taken down in a manner that belies his background, which is floor trading on the CME. They're a little more salt of the earth, and far less refined than your typical economic pundit that shows up on the financial airwaves.

My post was purely about reaction to criticism. That's all it was.

I'm sorry to have upset you so.

Happy new year.

Flat Earth!!!

Well in that case, be my guest and sail off the edge.

I'll stick with the great circle...
