25 Days of Christmas -- Dec. 10 -- "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" -- RBR

The song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" was introduced by Judy Garland in 1944, in the movie Meet Me in St. Louis. Written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blain, the song has long been a family Christmas favorite, and was voted as being in the AFI's top 100 songs in the movies.

Judy Garland sings this version, the original one. Frank Sinatra sand and released the song again in 1957, with several lyrical changes. Translated into both Swedish and Italian, the song has been one of the most performed Christmas songs since it was first introduced!

Other artists who have recorded this song include Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, James Taylor, and Luther Vandross.

Without further ado, I would like to present you with Judy Garland's original version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas":

I hope you enjoy this song!

I have always loved this song, and appreciated Judy Garland's immense talent! It was so good to hear her voice again! I have missed her!

Great song. Remember when I was a little kid this was the version played all the time. I just cannot think of Judy Garland as being anything except that little girl from Kansas with the red shoes and a dog named Toto.

Thanks for the song today, Dowser, dear lady.

Thank you, so much, for coming by!

I remember this, too, on the radio! You're right-- to me, she will always be Dorothy! She was a special lady who had way too many inner demons to fight.

Wonderful performance by Judy.

Like dd, it's difficult to see her as anyone but a little girl from Kansas with Toto.

I always felt so sorry for her! What a selfish woman that mother was! I'm so sorry for her sufferings...

She brought joy to so many people. May God bless her!

Given the adversities this beautiful woman endured, how blessed we are to have been the beneficiaries of her talent.

No melodic voice here, but with heartfelt joy I do wish you a Merry Little Christmas!

Me, too, jwc. For the first time in many years, I can bear Christmas music-- usually I just cry. I'm doing a bit better this year, and trying to find the joy!

Sweet Lynne, the very same to you! I have no musical talents, but lots of enthusiasm, does that count?

LOVE you!
