Those who manage to escape the San Francisco Bay Area (myself included) often regale our new neighbors with terrifying tales of the leftist homeland: homeless encampments, poop-tracking apps, and $4,000 rent, held together with crime and overpriced coffee.

But for those who live in neighborhoods that continue to cling to ideological sanity, many of these stories sound too ridiculous to be true — the musings of a traumatized conservative delighted to have escaped the socialist nation of California.

Anyone who has any remaining doubt regarding the final descent of San Francisco into leftist chaos, though, should look no further than its GIFT program: Guaranteed Income for Transgender People.

In other words, taxpayers are giving transgender people in San Francisco $1,200 a month.

Under "the Transgender District and Lyon-Martin Community Health Services, in partnership with municipal city departments in the City and County of San Francisco," the program will supposedly "provide economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty our most impacted community members face."

In total, 55 transgender residents of San Francisco County will receive $1,200 a month in guaranteed income for a total of 18 months. That amounts to $21,600 per resident and $1,188,000 in total.

But not to worry — identity politics apply to transgender people, with GIFT prioritizing those who are black, indigenous, or people of color, as well "monolingual Spanish-speakers" (those who can't or don't speak English), those who are "undocumented" (illegal immigrants), and those who are "formerly incarcerated" (criminals).

In addition to the $1,200 monthly payout, Lyon-Martin Community Health Services will also provide so-called "wrap-around" services, including "gender-affirming" care, which can often cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Applicants must be above the age of 18, identify as "transgender, nonbinary, gender noncomforming, or intersex," live in the city and county of San Francisco, earn less than $600 per month, be willing to complete a survey every three months during the program, and (best of all) provide valid photo ID.

Setting aside the ridiculous fact that San Francisco is looking to hand money to residents simply for being transgender, we spiral into the utterly obscene when we take a look at the program application form.

Listed are 18 pronouns, which seem like the outcome of an overzealous use of Google Translate. Applicants are directed to "check all that apply" from a list of almost 100 gender identities, including "man of trans experience," "brotherboy," "butch," "boi," "stud," "aggressive," "genderf***," "maverique," and even "I don't use labels" for the wokest of the woke. And then, there are the sexual orientation options, which read like a compilation of homophobic insults from an '80s action movie, with choices including "queer," "dyke," and "f*****."

And while San Francisco is handing out cash to its transgender residents, California stares down a $25 billion budget deficit in 2023 under the hair-gelled, maniacally grinning leadership of likely future presidential candidate Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Make no mistake: San Francisco craziness is coming to a town near you, and unless you're an indigenous person of color who self-identifies as a homeless, formerly incarcerated, part-time sex-working man of trans experience, it's going to cost you.

I read that they already have over 2,000 applications for the 55 slots.  I wonder what criteria they are using to pick the winners - most trans, most number of self-identified pronouns selected, minority status plus trans?

In 2020, SF launched it’s Abundant Birth Project, providing pregnant Black and Pacific Islander residents with $1,000 per month, from their first trimester to two years postpartum.

Then in 2021, the Guaranteed Income Pilot for Artists, providing 190 artists with $1,000 per month for 18 months.

In 2023, the will add another Income Pilot aimed at youths.

What would you suggest they do with the money?

How about something reasonable and makes sense like how about giving it to homeless/disabled vets. You know, those folks that did something useful like serving and sacrificing for their country?

So...  You're fine with giving taxpayer money to people as long as they're the people you approve of.  Trans people pay taxes too.  There's lots of money and services out there for veterans but very little for trans people.  Many trans people are rejected by their families as teenagers and find themselves living on the streets of one of the most expensive cities in the world.

You asked a question and I answered. You have something against homeless and/or disabled vets on the streets or do you not approve of them?

I'm not familiar with the cities budget, requirements or priorities so I can't give you an informed suggestion.  One area the seems common to all locations is the need for greater investment into mental heath care.

Giving away money while allowing their city to become even more unlivable than a septic tank.  I guess that's the Democrat / liberal / leftist dream now.

And will you look at that!  It's Pelosi's district.

Someone there deserves credit for the poop app.  It allows one to report the location on the sidewalk of human poop with GPS precision, kinda like a Waze for SF pedestrians.  That's progressive.

One can buy a great pair of pumps, sturdy bras, lipsticks, moisture creams, and suitable extra prosthetics, with this money.  I am pretty sure these will be model trans-people. You know the kind of transpeople other transpersons can emulate. :)

It is telling that haters got to hate to go search out 'dirty water' images to post about San Francisco, California. To be fair, there is a trashy section of town in S.F. but generally and mostly its a clean city. So, I am going to push back against the abusers for trying to 'sack' the city's image with propaganda.

I will speak up for the people of S.F. who are not on NT to speak up for themselves. And for crying out-loud, San Francisco, seems to always have a new "building boom" going on!

Isn’t SF losing larger population per capita over the last several years than other IS cities?

People move around, I suppose. Eh? The question is: Will S.F. survive these mocking MAGA-ites?  Pretty sure, y'all will burn out long before S.F does!

This is disturbing: Here is an article and commenters complaining and mocking human poop on a few sidewalks where/which homeless people overpopulate, but these same MOCKERS have not a damn thing to write about the blood-the blood readers- running down, down, down into sewers and our overflowing morgues with dead children, youth, and old folks shot to pieces and death through pervasive gun violence from coast to coast!

MAGA conservatives are very good with the art of deflection! "Look over here; watch the 'birdie'!"
