U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chief Patrol Agents Gloria Chavez (Rio Grande Valley Sector), and John Modlin (Tucson Sector) on Tuesday are slated to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on security along the nation's southern border.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is holding the hearing to gather facts from U.S. border Patrol employees who are working at the border.

"Next week, we will hear firsthand from the Border Patrol about this humanitarian and national security crisis," comer said last week. "Oversight Republicans are committed to holding the Biden Administration accountable for its dereliction of duty and look forward to hearing testimony from those on the ground battling this crisis."

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET.

Hearings are now underway.

It's time for accountability.

Alas the blame will be one-sided, this is a congress that has failed to do anything about immigration since Reagan ran the show. (Spare me the 'Fence', it's a blight to the senses.)

Closer to the reality that any progress being made to secure the border was stopped via EO on 20 January 2021 and it's, like many other things, fallen to shit since.

Who sets immigration policy?

Who enforces immigration laws?

Who is responsible for protecting our borders?

Surely you can comprehend the reticence of Republicans after the Democrats screwed them when Reagan agreed to amnesty.

Who sets immigration policy?

All 3 branches have that ability.

         Who enforces immigration laws?

A number of agencies tied to the executive branch ... agencies that get fucked up like clockwork in 4-8 year cycles.

Who is responsible for protecting our borders?

The guy in the late 1840s who was responsible for expanding them?

That will fix the problem.

Is there any argument you won't make?

Six million people were allowed to walk into the US. Maybe that number will double in the next 2 years. It won't be long before democrats will seek amnesty for all of them.

They do? You do realize that the judiciary doesn't get to make laws. They can only interpret if they are Constitutional or not. Bad things happen when the judiciary writes laws- like they did with Roe vs Wade.

Who enforces immigration laws? A number of agencies tied to the executive branch ... agencies that get fucked up like clockwork in 4-8 year cycles.

The executive branch enforces them period. ICE and the BP work under Homeland Security; but they are all under the power of the Executive branch. Brandon the Human Fuck Up Machine has chosen not to enforce the immigration laws that are on the books- that is why we have the problems we do now.

Who is responsible for protecting our borders? The guy in the late 1840s who was responsible for expanding them?

Maybe that is the way it works in Canada. Where the military can literally be drowned in a bathtub. Here in the US it is up to the Executive Branch- namely the PotUS to enforce our borders. Brandon has chosen wide open borders; which is costing US citizens dearly.

Don't worry, I am sure a good number will find their way to Canada after they find out how much Democrat bastions of stupidity sanctuary cities suck. It is already happening will illegals that are in NY and NJ.

Sounds rather silly, but hey, probably still better than the reality of the consequences of Biden's disastrous policies!

Possibly, but then are you saying that republicans have no ability to attract Hispanics? Y'all used to be positively charming a few score years ago. Now you stare into the abyss and are shocked that it stares back at you? Instead of berating democrats ask yourselves why you have become just like them.

Actually, the past election results prove that the GOP certainly can attract Hispanics.

Republicans are doing well with Hispanics. The migrants come from 140 countries and shouldn't be voting, but you know all that.

Is the Cato Institute good enough for you?

"Survey misuse, misdesign, and misinterpretation is a serious problem that we all witnessed right after the 2020 election. This strain of research appears to be another instance of that. There are likely many problems with America’s voting system and there is no doubt that a non‐zero number of non‐citizens illegally voted, but there is no good evidence that noncitizens voted illegally in large enough numbers to actually shift the outcome of elections or even change the number of electoral votes."
