25 Days of Christmas -- Dec. 6-- Eartha Kitt sings Santa Baby-- by Marsha Meyer
My only RBR is, as follows: Please, have fun, and be nice to one another! (Since we're all feeling our way, here, this will be repeated in the comment section.)
EARTHA KITT
Miss Kitt was a sexy lady! Still is! This song was a big hit when it came out in 1953, and was written for Kitt by a senator's daughter, Joan Javits, lyricist, and Philip Springer. The song is a tongue-in-cheek look at a Wish List presented to Santa, where a woman wants extravagant items, such as yachts, decorations from Tiffany's, and sables.
The song was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt and Henri Rene's orchestra in New York City. It was released by RCA Records, whose logo, "His Master's Voice" is still recognizable. The song was a HUGE hit for Miss Kitt, and she later said it was one of her favorites to record.
The song has been re-recorded by both Madonna, in 1987, and Ariana Grande, in 2013. The song has also been re-recorded to lesser success, by many others, including Homer and Jethro, Maria Muldaur, and Mariah Carey. Link to complete list .
Lyrics
"(baboom baboom baboom baboom)
Santa Baby, just slip a sable under the tree
For me
Been an awful good girl
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed
Next year I could be just as good
If you'll check off my Christmas list
Santa baby, I want a yacht and really that's not a lot
Been an angel all year
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa honey, one little thing I really need the deed
To a platinum mine
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a duplex
And checks
Sign your 'x' on the line
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tif-fa-ny
I really do believe in you
Lets see if you believe in me
Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing
A ring
I don't mean on the phone
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry, tonight"
Without further ado, here is the song, Santa Baby , by Eartha Kitt
Even though this is a day late... (sorry, things got hectic, but I finally have new tires), I hope that you enjoy this song, and have a great day!

Please, have fun, and be nice to one another!
I've been working on something special for today! Sorry this is late!
I always thought this song was about a girl's sugar daddy, not santa...
Good song...Eartha Kitt was one of a kind. (Nona asks Dowser with embarrassment...how do you get the red print?)
Wow, I've heard Eartha Kitt in years. Great video Dowser.
Thanks, bf!
It's just supposed to be fun!
Ok, you click the html button, which switches you to html... type in;:<font color=red>
When you're done, to change it back you have to type in:
<font color=black>
It's a pain, but it works. Then, you can check your work, by clicking the html button again, which will show it in normal view.
Hope that helps!!!
Dear Kavika, I've always loved her! I think she was wonderful!
She certainly does!
Me, too! About the tires! I also have a new wiper blade on the back windshield, and a new headlight bulb. It's a miracle!
I got Michelins and they last for a long time... 65,000 miles or so. They also have a nice warranty, so if you have a road hazard before hand, they replace them. I'm driving so much these days, I feel a lot safer with decent tires.
She was pretty, too! Still is!
Santa Baby is my favorite too!!!
Love you, RW!
An original that has stood the test of time, a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful voice.
Glad to hear you're car has new soles on her feet, cars are dangerous enough without having worn tires Be safe, the holiday crazies are out!!
Boy, that's the truth!
I feel much safer with these smooth riding tires, especially with winter weather coming...
thanks, dear Lynne, for coming by! I'm getting ready to publish a tribute to the war years! Christmas music wise!
Such a beautiful song, by an awesome artist!!
