Trump is only living US president not descended from slaveholders, report says
Those lawmakers from the 117th session of Congress are Democrats and Republicans alike. They include some of the most influential politicians in America: Republican senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton and James Lankford, and Democrats Elizabeth Warren, Tammy Duckworth, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan. In addition, President Joe Biden and every living former U.S. president – except Donald Trump – are direct descendants of slaveholders: Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, Bill...
LOL, will this make Trump acceptable by those on the left?
A chiseled block of sandstone in the U.S. Capitol’s visitor center serves as a reminder that the home of the nation’s Congress was built in part by enslaved Black people. A bronze plaque says the stone, originally part of the building’s exterior, “commemorates their important role in building the Capitol.”
Many lawmakers need look no further than their own family histories to find a much more personal connection to slavery in America, a brutal system of oppression that resulted in the deadliest conflict in U.S. history.
Read this morning and had to laugh. Every past president except for Trump comes from a family that owned slaves. And so many in leadership positions.
Is it any wonder that progressives will tout reparations until the commissions are finished and then the statement goes to "ummm, this is not about money". LOL
WTF are you talking about? What does it have to do with this article other than allegedly dissing liberals?
Your shtick is so tiresome.
well, that certainly absolves him of everything else !
By progressive logic, that's makes him the most virtuous and just. .
I'm a progressive and its not my logic. Try not imagining so many things.
The irony at play in that comment is earth shattering.
And here comes the selective outrage.
This is the same sort of lame ass "logic" that claims racism no longer exists in America because a black man was elected president 15 years ago.
I’ve seen no one here even imply that racism doesn’t exist in the USA. Because implying so is simply obtuse considering human nature.
Sadly though, the progressive left continues their crusade to exaggerate the issue as worse than it actually is.
Thinking people everywhere understand this very well.
As does the regressive right with their issues ... "thinking people" also understand that.
Nah, most of those aren’t “thinking” people.
They are “emotional” people.
Huge difference.
Huge.
just chant with me:
"America is a racist country and always has been".
You should be golden now!
The delusion is real …..
As long as there is a political party who thinks African Americans can't get jobs or into college without their help racism will exist in America.
You're not referring to the political party that has supported the KKK, Jim Crow, Margaret Sanger's eugenics (Black population control) Planned Parenthood, racist LBJ's "War on Poverty", grifters who control rioting/looting BLM and Antifa, the fake 1619 Project, and the racially divisive CRT and DEI, are you?
Okay, but how many are descendants of a whorehouse owner ... ?
To be fair we also know the DJT is a direct descendent of a draft dodger and also would not admit to being German and said he was Swedish. Also that his draft-dodging grandfather was asked to leave German and never return.
The Trump family immigrated here in 1885, of course, long after the Civil War so it does make sense that he had no ancestors in the US that were slave owners.
LOL. Too much truth Kavika.
well of course Donald must be held responsible for somethings his grandfather or father did, that's the progressive way!
Never said that he was responsible for what his grandfather did, just pointed out some facts. I guess inventing things that you think I said is the conservative way.
Then what was the point of your post?

What is the point in ANY of your posts?
To post some facts about Trump and in fact agreed that his family never owned slaves because they immigrated to the US in 1885 and to add a bit to the Trump lore. If you can prove those facts wrong go ahead and give it a shot.
Read them.

That's why Democrats' "people of color" believe that first or second generation white people whose ancestors weren't even living in the USA during slavery should be forced to pay "reparations" to "people of color" who were never slaves.
Never said any such thing. A statement that the Trumps didn't come to the US until 1885 well after the civil war would be next to impossible for them to have owned slaves. Pretty simple concept.

This is indeed funny when progressive tactics are used against progressives. It’s fun watching them try to deflect it.
Funny as hell ….
