Media Says Border Crisis Not An Invasion, It Is Simply A Group Of Military-Aged Males Using Force Against Our Military To Enter And Occupy The Country

U.S. — After shocking footage emerged from the border showing waves of migrants mounting an attack on National Guard soldiers to break through the border, media outlets were quick to remind viewers that this was not in any way an invasion.
"We must remember that this is not an invasion," said CNN anchor Jake Tapper. "This is simply a massive group of military-aged males from other countries mounting an assault against our military in order to enter and occupy our country."
"It's a totally different thing."
Independent experts on invasion confirmed that an invasion is not happening in any way, shape, or form, but expressed regret that there wasn't some sort of word to describe what's going on. "Yes, it's true that a massive foreign group has mounted a violent incursion against our armed forces in order to forcibly take up residence within the borders of our country," said one expert cited by CNN. "But that's not an invasion or anything. We should probably come up with a phrase to describe it."
At publishing time, media sources described what happened at the border as an "unplanned welcome of persons of future citizenship."
This 'crisis' is ridiculous on so many levels that I can't even begin to explain it. Congress is the law-making body for the country and this is their duty and responsibility to do and they are getting a pass for the sake of playing politics with presidents—on any side of the aisle. It's patently ridiculous, that law-makers have 'perpetual' issues they can't navigate in our country. I have no words.
To get ahead of the riff-raff comments about presidents and executive orders. . .if presidents won't fix the border. . . why can't CONGRESS do it? What is 'job 1' for a congressperson anyway?
OK, what should Congress do? Open the border wider? Increase deficit spending to subsidize immigration? Or should money be cut out of the domestic budget and transferred to migrant support? How much debt does Congress need to create? Which programs should Congress cut to pay for migrant support? Or should Congress raise taxes on everyone to spread the burden of illegal immigration?
Congress could declare war on Mexico. Obviously conditions are so bad in Mexico that millions of people are escaping across the border into the US. The last time the country experienced mass migrations like this was Cambodians escaping the Khmer Rouge killing fields and before that Jews escaping the Holocaust. Are conditions that bad south of the US border? What evil is forcing people to flee South America, Central America, and Mexico? Shouldn't Congress address that evil? Why isn't war a viable solution?
A lot of do-gooders tell us we need to do something. What? What should we do? Just spending more money ain't working. Just opening the border and providing more support ain't working. Even stationing more people along the border ain't working. So, tell us, what should Congress do?
