Kamala Harris Economic Speech

A lot of hay is being thrown up in the air over Kamala Harris's speech today. I figured that if we were going to talk about it, then we should at least watch the speech.

Just a note, she does not come off as anything near what the partisan right would have you think.

hay being thrown? ... uh, that isn't hay they're throwing...

seriously, who's going to give any credibility to a convicted felon, that can't stick to the topic, and his equally moronic supporters.

Not to be redundant, but I would answer "His equally moronic supporters"

All kidding aside, some people do listen to him, but there are some good people too....

Funny, but I did not either.

I heard a lot of boilerplate campaign speech rhetoric. Nothing remotely resembling communism/socialism.

... it's republican socialism. multimillionaires and billionaires order whatever they want off the menu, and the poor and middle class have to pick up the tab.

Do you read from a teleprompter also?

Did you watch the speech?

Can you muster a cogent and on topic comment?

This is a rather normal D speech.   Pretty much what I expected.

While I hold that the USA needs to provide more opportunity in education and provide a national healthcare system (done properly ... complex topic), I am not at all in support of the government simply giving money (simplistic redistribution of wealth).

Unfortunately there is no real check from the GOP side because fiscal conservatism dies out decades ago in the GOP and now the GOP itself has lost its identity and is now essentially a Trump cult.

In all, Harris-Walz is, in spite of policies that I do not like, a positive, energetic, presidential, inspirational team contrasted with a vindictive, negative, curmudgeon who is entirely unfit to hold any political office.   Stopping Trump is far more important than some policy differences ... not even close.

Both of them are worthless POS, and a coming disaster for our country.

Is there any D who is not a "worthless POS" in your eyes?

We can ask the same to leftists about Republicans.

Since anyone to your left is a 'leftist' I am a 'leftist' in your eyes and thus qualified to weigh in on this.

I would have been overjoyed to see Mitt Romney elected PotUS.   Same with Condoleeza Rice.   I would have voted for Chris Sununu or Nikki Haley although not anymore since they have both joined the Trump cult.   I would have voted for Asa Hutchinson or Chris Christie.

Suffice it to say that I think there are plenty of decent human beings (e.g. Liz Cheney) who would actually try to follow the principles of the GOP prior to Trump.   People who would try to do well by the American people.

And I also can list a number of Ds in the very same manner.

And I can list a shitload of politicians across both parties that I think should NOT be reelected.   Because of Trump there are many more Rs than Ds nowadays; that was not true in the past.

Now, show us your objectivity and list off prominent D politicians that you would consider voting for.
