Kamala Harris   has been handed a win in one of her toughest campaign issues, as the latest data shows the administration's efforts to stem record levels of illegal immigration appear to be paying off.

Since   President Biden's   executive order imposing stricter asylum rules in June, migration numbers have dropped significantly.

Don't know if letting something go to hell for 3 1/2 years, then fixing it with 6 months before an election is a win, when it should have never been broken to begin with!

Don't know if letting something go to hell for 3 1/2 years,

I've heard opinions that tight control of the Mexican border should've happened much earlier than that (like maybe in the 1830s).

???

Open borders then didn't serve Mexico well.

No kidding it’s not a win. It’s a “oh shit, there’s an election coming up we better do something about our incompetence.”

Smoke and mirrors tactics on the Biden administrations part because illegals are still being let in without proper vetting by DHS and CBP.

Total encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border reached 107,503 last month, down 54 percent from 232,963 the same time last year, and below December's figure of 301,982.

The agency said that this drop puts border patrol on track to record its lowest number of annual apprehensions along the southwest border since the fiscal year ended September 2020, and "lower than the monthly average for fiscal year 2019, the last comparable full fiscal year prior to the pandemic."

The agency credited the decrease to President Biden's      June 4 executive order   , which permitted border officials to remove migrants entering the U.S. illegally without processing requests for asylum.

During her speech at the   Democratic National Convention   in August, the vice president promised to revive the    bipartisan border security agreement   , voted down by    Senate    Republicans in May.

Basically an admission that  it was entirely within the power of Biden/Harris to limit illegal immigration from day one and the chaos they created was a choice.

This is exactly what everyone with a brain has been predicting for the last three years. Win or lose, enforcement will plummet the day after the election.

Well if you want to use that argument . . .

You could also say that  it was entirely within the power of Trump/Pence to limit illegal immigration from day one and the chaos they created was a choice.

Trump/pence did more than Biden / Harris even thought of. Most the things that Biden and Harris are claiming as accomplishments like this are nothing but smoke and mirrors another thing Biden did is open the use of our strategic reserves of oil and gas to make it seem like fuel prices were easing and therefore making it seem like inflation was coming down. They tout how they decreased unemployment when in actuality most of the jobs made during their administration were from the rehiring of people after the pandemic. They maybe able to pull the wool over their ilk but I and other intelligent voters won't buy it.
