2 undocumented migrants sought for murdering 63-year-old Chicago man who was found tied up with duct tape and cord: alderman

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

CHICAGO — Chicago police are preparing to arrest two undocumented migrants to face charges of home invasion and murder in connection with the   brutal slaying   of a man in his Norwood Park home, an alderman said this afternoon.

Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd), chair of the City Council’s Committee on Public Safety, shared the news on Twitter.

“Two in custody for this horrific home invasion and murder,”   Hopkins wrote , “both offenders are undocumented migrants, one from Ecuador, one from Venezuela.”

Hopkins subsequently deleted the tweet and told CWBChicago that the arrests were imminent but not yet completed.   (Update January 30: Both individuals are now in custody, per a law enforcement source. No charges have been announced.)

George Levin, 63, was found dead in his bedroom in the 7600 block of West Talcott late Sunday night by his sister, who lives elsewhere in the home. Levin was restrained with duct tape and electrical cord, officials said. The medical examiner said he died from multiple injuries suffered in an assault.

A source familiar with the investigation told CWBChiago that they believed Levin met the killers through an app. Police caught a break when they linked a license plate to the slaying and used it to track down the Venezuelan suspect, the source said.

Levin is only the 11th person to be murdered in Norwood Park since 2001. Before his death, the most recent murder was in September 2022.

I'm going to bet this doesn't get the same coverage the brutal robbery/murder of Matthew Shepard.  George Levin isn't going to be famous

Sadly for Mr. Levin, the Mayor of his town is adamant his job doesn't include protecting citizens from violent illegals..

Protected from ICE by a criminal mayor.

The mayor should be arrested as well but we both know that won't happen.

Should this happen to the mayors of every town where a murder occurs?  Or is it okay for towns to "host" murders?

"Should this happen to the mayors of every town where a murder occurs?"

No, obviously not. Only to the ones knowingly and willingly harboring illegal aliens under the guise of "sanctuary cities". Especially illegals with known violent criminal backgrounds.

As opposed to simply answering the question posed?

So the ones that knowing and willingly harbor other criminals are a-okay with you?  Since your "illegal aliens" are much less likely to commit crimes than your home grown criminals, shouldn't those mayors be punished just as much?

Another ignorant comment, 100% of illegals have committed crimes, quit posting lies. and again you have made a claim about a poster without backing it up.

Which ones knowingly and willingly harbor violent criminals and direct police not to arrest them?

Nice attempt at cherry picking my statement by leaving out the last line as in:

"Especially illegals with known violent criminal backgrounds."

The illegal aliens I am talking about are people associated with groups like, ATG, MS-13, the drug cartels, and others. You saying those are not likely and are not committing crimes? Those are the ones I want to see ICE going after first and foremost and that is what they are doing. Get them out of the country first and deal with the rest that are deemed not a threat on a case by case basis.

I've asked you several questions a few times over the past week or so and you have failed to answer any of them.

For you to chastise someone for not answering your question reeks of hypocrisy.

Oh, of course.  And the mayors know about that due to the cover letters and resumes that each has submitted.

You've asked me the same question while repeatedly failing to explain how the question has anything to do with the topic at hand.  A troll question.

The subjects at hand are ALWAYS about illegal aliens, sanctuary cities and them crossing through unauthorized areas not allowed for "asylum" status.

Remember you implying coming across the Rio or across the desert is a perfectly fine legal entry area?

Of course you don't.

Oh they know all right. Especially when the perps get arrested by the police and a liberal DA in a "sanctuary city" let's them walk as standard procedure.

We already know those hypocrites wont even let them in their neighborhoods.  Remember what Martha's Vineyard did when illegals showed up?

That's ususally the result when asking hypocrites that question.

This story keeps getting worse.... One of the illegal alien murderers was arrested on Jan 12 for  trying to kidnap a child. Since it's Chicago, he was immediately put back on the street and ICE was not notified.

Yeah, i don’t get it. It is a direct betrayal to the American citizens they work for. I asked one of the liberals here why some dems are opposed to getting violent illegals out of the community. No answer, of course.

It is such a common sense solution.  Arrest and then deport people who try to kidnap children to prevent future tragedies.  A large majority of Americans understand it. You have to have serious mental health issues to be able to work your mind into such a pretzel that protecting predators is what  you believe the government's job is.

How could any sane person vote for people who support these pro criminal alien policies?  I don't think a sane person  can.

I asked one of the liberals here why some dems are opposed to getting violent illegals out of the community

Apparently, what google calls a body of water is what really matters.
