Trump Takes Instant Revenge by Chopping Ukraine Aid Cash

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Donald Trump  chopped a lifesaving humanitarian initiative aimed at rehabilitating Ukraine’s energy grid which has been damaged by brutal Russian attacks. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) had invested hundreds of millions of dollars to implement the project. Just days before, the president targeted 90% of global foreign aid contracts and kicked out thousands of USAID workers.

The public servants were given 15 minutes to clear their desks and leave. Now, he’s forcing USAID to downsize their presence in the war-torn country and end the longstanding restoration project. For the past three years of war, Russia has launched frequent attacks on the country’s energy grid and put millions at risk, especially during the country’s coldest months.

USAID interventions aimed to rebuild the struggling country. But along with the termination of key projects, its staff is being drastically reduced. Before Trump, 64 government employees and contractors were serving on the ground in  Ukraine . Now, that number stands at just eight. The staff has also been slashed in Washington D.C., where only 29 out of 115 staff members remain in the USAID’s Bureau for Europe and Eurasia. The Daily Beast has reached out to the Trump administration for comment.

Zelinsky did not screw up. Trump did, quite clearly and egregiously. Trump was actually being fairly nice, then Vance got in and made accusations against him, Trump piled on. It really was a defining moment for this presidency. Definingly bad, but a defining moment nonetheless

No?   What will he tell his people when he gets home with nothing.

Probably to watch the video of Putin's buddies haranguing him over lies that they told to try and make him lose his cool.

Karen 1 and Karen 2 (Trump and Vance) are digging a very deep hole.

Zelensky is in an even deeper one, and will come calling back when he decides he wants peace and prosperity instead of trying to win a war with Russia, which will never happen. Can you imagine Kamala trying to intercede between Zelensky and Putin?

According to Sean, Russia is on the verge of collapse.  Y’all need to get your stories straight instead of reflexively saying whatever sounds good in the moment.

Russia is on the verge of collapse.

A demographic collapse that will play out over the next couple decades.

Absent divine intervention or the sacrifice of  dead american soldiers, they aren't being pushed out of Ukraine in the short term.

Then we should continue to be instrumental in wearing Russia down in the short term.  The sooner Putin is rubbed into the dirt the better.  He is a global terrorist, full stop.

d continue to be instrumental in wearing Russia down in the short term.

Absent American troops, we aren't going to win back Ukraine.   Ukraine, a  much smaller country, has a demographic crisis of its own.  Manpower is Ukraines primary problem. The lack of it is why they can't win. Its losing the war inch by inch day by day.  T

We can borrow another 500 billion on Ukraine's  behalf and that's not going to change.

The future used to be drones.  Now it is the present, and they are making a difference without the loss of manpower.  Ukraine has never asked for American lives but hasn’t been afraid to risk their own to save their country.  We should play our part in extinguishing this global threat, not suck up to this Russian scourge.

Russia has them. Lots of them. Its one of the reasons they are winning.

hUkraine has never asked for American lives but hasn’t been afraid to risk their own to save their country.

Security guarantees is a mealy mouthed way of asking for them.

We should play our part in extinguishing this global threat,

The Russian army is not a global threat. It's barely a regional one.

Then the objective is clear.

The Russian army is not a global threat. It's barely a regional one.

Russia is a global threat, not because of its army but because modern warfare is asymmetric.  Europe knows this, and is dedicating more GDP to the fight than we are.  Capitulating to Russia is condoning their malfeasance.

Then fighting them in Ukraine is pointless.  Blowing up Russian tanks and infantry will have no impact on their asymmetric capability.

apitulating to Russia is condoning their malfeasance.

Who is capitulating?

Who is capitulating?

The ones who are backing out of assisting Ukraine - and voting alongside Russia, China, Belarus, North Korea …

Prompt:

I would like a concise definition of "capitulation"

Chat GPT, Just now:

Capitulation: The act of surrendering or yielding, often under agreed terms or after resistance. It can refer to military surrender, financial market sell-offs, or giving in during negotiations.
