The FBI should investigate who is spreading Russian propaganda in the White House, a senior Ukrainian MP has said, after President Trump described a Russian ballistic missile strike which killed at least 34 people as a “mistake”. Oleksandr Merezhko, chairman of the Ukrainian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, said that Trump’s assertion with regard to the attack on the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy was “preposterous”. “It’s like saying that 9/11 was just a ‘mistake’ by al-Qaeda,” he said. “It a very disturbing statement by Trump which both encourages Putin to continue atrocities and demonstrates that someone in Trump’s entourage is pushing Russian narratives. More than likely but Putin knows that his buddy will find a way to blame someone else, you can bet that the Pope could be some where in the next group to be blamed.
The attack might have something to do with the Ukrainian government banning the Russian Orthodox Church. Ukraine even played political games by establishing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOCMP) in 1990 which claimed to be independent but under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Russian Orthodox Church uses the Julian calendar instead the the Gregorian calendar. Palm Sunday and Easter falling on the same date under both calendars is an uncommon alignment. (Of course, the United States has to be different by using a revised Julian calendar for Orthodox religious practices and celebrations.)
