Loaded handgun found in child's bag at New Jersey day care
CAMDEN, N.J. Police say they've arrested the father of an 11-month-old girl after a day care worker found a loaded handgun in the child's bag.
Police responded to the El Centro Day Care Center in Camden Tuesday morning, where they say they recovered a 9mm handgun, loaded with hollow point rounds and reported stolen out of Philadelphia.
Police arrested the child's father, 25-year-old Rakeem Williams. The Lindenwold man faces numerous charges including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point bullets and receiving stolen property.
Williams was sent to the county jail. Bail has been set at $50,000 cash or bond. It's unknown if he has an attorney.
Police say they contacted child protective services on behalf of the girl and her sibling.
No "Father of the Year Award" for this guy. That could have turned really ugly scenario.
