Actually most adult male cats with claws are capable of beating up on dogs . They usually are not motivated to do so , but in this case this cat got motivated fast !
That cat is "the dog"!
I've never heard of a cat being that protective of a human.

It is not focused on much in the media . Dogs get all the glory . They even get their own TV series [Lassie , Rin Tin Tin ] . But there are no such shows for cats ...

I saw that Pat. That was something else. I had a cat that was like that. If anything came into or close to our yard she'd take off like a dog after it and her hair was sticking out so much she looked a lot bigger as well.
Got five cats - one weighs 28 pounds, the littlist weighs 5 and she's 8 years old. They won't even protect their damn food bowls - worthless fur balls.
Luv how the cat chased the dog around the car - and he was scooting with his butt on the ground, knowing he'd met his match.
