Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is beaming in! From executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, the series will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.

I saw on Twitter that Tawny Newsome from Lower Decks has joined the writers room for this one, but no cast information has been released yet.
I've read a couple of articles about it and production is set to begin in 2024, with a projected release date no earlier than that, and possibly in 2025.
Nobody is sure yet, but the line from the announcement, "For the first time in over a century, our campus will be re-opened," is driving speculation that it will be a Discovery spin-off (ugh!), and will take place in the 32nd century (double ugh!). I don't like the sound of that. I hope that won't end up being the case.
