Rant About Immigrants
My heart really goes out to those children from Central America that are flooding our country. I know conditions in their home country are deplorable. But these children and their families are being exploited by criminals who are profiting from this. They are convincing the families of these children that an amnesty law that was passed to allow children who came here before 2007 to remain also applies to their children. These children are being used by everyone either to make a profit or to make a point. I agree that we really cannot take in any more illegal immigrants as our Southern border states are already stressed by the constant barrage of people trying to escape to a better place and what is happening is the problems follow them...the drug wars, escalated gang related violence, human trafficking, illiteracy are among some of the things that have greatly multiplied here over the last decade and shows no signs of abating.
Out here is is becoming necessary to learn several dialects of the type of Spanish spoken in Mexico, Central and South America as well as the dialects from other Hispanic countries. Along with these I find an increase in Thai, Laos, Korean, Chinese, and several of the dialects spoken in India, as most are refusing to learn English. I've also noticed that certain areas in the cities and towns have suffered a great decline in real estate value.
We need to unite across this country and call for our borders and laws to be enforced as the problem is not going to stay here, it will spread and drown all of us.

Thank you Perrie. It is good to finally have a place I can voice my opinions and concerns and get some real feed back (FaceBook just doesn't seem to have a mentality much above kindergarten level on most things).
I am still exploring and getting used to the lay of the land, so to speak. I am really looking forward to reading and writing (now and then), and generally just learning more!
True Mickey - the cartels are "convincing" the parents of the kids that there is a "new law" in the U. S. that allows kids to stay and become citizens. Then they tell the parents - "for only $12,000 we can smuggle your kid to freedom". And guess what the parents do?????
