16 Discontinued Foods From Back In The Day
There's probably a good reason they're gone, but that doesn't mean we don't miss them.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around GenX and Millennials having reached middle-aged nostalgia.  These are all waaay after my time and I don't remember all of them.

Today's food trends are so social media driven that you may not realize there were plenty of fads that came and went way before we were influenced online.

So I got to thinking about some of the things we ate when we were younger that are no longer around and would legit horrify today's kids.

1.Hi-C Ecto Cooler, a promo item for the short-lived Ghostbusters animated series, was a slime-green juice far from what today's kids think of when they hear "green juice."

What far, begone snacks were favorites of yours? Would you keep any of them away from your kids if they were still around today? Dish in the comments.

Hard to believe my kids generation has gotten to the 'get off the damned lawn' age.  As for myself, I'm from the pre-microwave generation.  Anyone remember Tab and Pop Tarts?

I never liked Tab but I still get pop tarts. I only like the unfrosted strawberry.

I don't remember any of these products except for the chocolate yoohoos.  They came in a bottle not a can though.

edit:  I also remember Bill Cosby pushing  Jello pudding pops too but I don't think I've ever had one.

I remember when I was a kid my mom used to eat these candies that were supposed to be an appetite suppressant.

A certain heath epidemic came along and pretty much killed the product.

Back I think in the early eighties there was a cartoon called strawberry shortcake (I don't think I ever watched) but they had a breakfast cereal of the same name and it was great. It tasted like crunch berries but just the berries none of the yellow squares. They need to bring that back.
