Biden to highlight rebounding economy during SOTU, renew tax proposals for large corporations
President Biden is expected to renews calls for increased taxes on corporations and billionaires, eliminating student debt and highlighting the economic rebound.

Yep, Biden is going to list all the neoliberal talking points.  Biden's going highlight supply-side growth, profits, jobs (wage slavery), and possibly even free trade.  Biden is going to sound like Bill Clinton appropriating Reagan's rhetoric to spin neoliberal prosperity.  Biden will tell us the job creators are doing great so they can afford to pay more taxes.

We're just too stupid to recognize the economy is doing great.  A great economy is why the Fed has left interest rates jacked, why student borrowers need bailed out, why cities are facing bankruptcy, why the trade deficit is out of control, why necessities have become unaffordable, why savings have lost 20 cents on the dollar, and why the American Dream has become a myth.

Biden will tell us that tax & spend BIG government is the future.  But Biden won't mention the unspoken priority for his constituency -- more SALT.

President Joe Biden is expected to spend a large part of Thursday's State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. addressing the economy as he renews his calls for increased taxes on corporations and billionaires, eliminating student debt and highlighting the economic rebound the U.S. has had since he became president.

Biden is also expected to tout other aspects of the economic recovery such as adding nearly 15 million jobs, rising wages, an unemployment rate below 4% for the past two years and an inflation rate that is steadily dropping.

"We were in the midst of a raging pandemic. Tens of millions of Americans were unemployed, hundreds of thousands of small businesses were at risk of closing and supply chains were badly broken," National Economic Advisor Lael Brainard said on a call previewing the SOTU.

The president is also expected to highlight his administration's efforts to crackdown on "junk fees" across a number of sectors -- from air travel, to concerts, banks, credit cards and health care and call out companies for "shrinkflation."

Biden will also push his plans to change the tax system by repeating his call to raise the corporate minimum tax to 28% and propose a 25% minimum tax for billionaires. He will argue that the GOP plan would add more than $3 trillion to deficits over 10 years if they make the Trump tax cuts permanent, while providing tax cuts for those making over $4.5 million.

Biden will take credit for neoliberal prosperity.  Biden will proclaim his policies an economic miracle; just ignore that Biden proposes using government to trickle down prosperity from the richer rich.  Biden will promise to tax the rich, with a wink and nod, just like Obama and Clinton did.

(Will the voters ignore that Biden is the third neoliberal Democrat President since Reagan?  Republicans have only elected two neoliberals since Reagan - and - Trump.)

The rest of Biden's address to Congress will be to guilt trip the country about NATO, Ukraine, minority grievances, the plight of migrants, and a host of other maudlin gaslighting rhetoric.  Most importantly Biden will guilt-trip the country for not supporting his neoliberal policies.

The unbiased liberal press will declare Biden's mumbling, bumbling speech to be the greatest of the 21st century.  But Biden, the political elite, and the unbiased press are deliberately ignoring that the mood of the country is to let the puppy drown.  The country is looking for a little self centered sympathy, empathy, and pampering.

The current Speaker Of The House could stand behind Biden and rip a copy of the speech in half like Nancy Pelosi did to Trump, but he has  more class than Pelosi had.

A more appropriate thing to do would be drop trou and wipe his backside with it.

Not sure Biden touting that his Billionaire campaign donors are doing good is going to resonate with the average Joe who can't afford groceries.

I wonder if Biden will tout that he is growing America, by allowing more illegals into this country than the population of 36 states.

I bet Biden doesn't mention at what cost to taxpayers his disastrous policies come.

It’s his one public event  for the week. Lot of pressure on the medical team to get his  dosages right so he can remain on task for 90 minutes and then he has a week to recuperate.

I wonder how many folks on the left are already writing their reviews for tonight's speech even though it is 4 hours away and saying Joe hit a home run.
