US said to be ''unimpressed'' by Ukraine's Victory Plan
US President Joe Biden's administration is concerned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyys plan to win the war with Russia lacks a comprehensive strategy and is focused on providing more weapons and lifting restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range missiles.

Pretty bad when the hometown newspapers begin reporting unfavorable news panning their wartime leader.  Here's another:

Volodymyr Zelensky provides as much detail about his plans as Kamala Harris does about her plans.  It's difficult to believe that a meeting between Zelensky and Harris could possibly be productive.  Death by a thousand inanities.

But has the unbiased liberal press actually reported Volodymyr Zelensky's 'Victory Plan'?  Perhaps the path to glorious victory has been trapped behind paywalls?  Ukraine does seem to be a pay per view war.  Al Jazeera has provided more details than can be found in the western press.  But what Al Jezeera reports as a 'Victory Plan' is only a rehash of Zelensky's talking points since the war started.

Zelensky's 'Victory Plan' consists of establishing a more consistent, reliable supply of increasingly advanced weapons to Ukraine.  Supposedly victory hinges upon Ukraine's ability to strike targets deep inside Russia.  But even Zelensky recognizes that is not enough.  The weapons are only a smoke screen to hide the insidious nature of Ukraine's demands.

Expedited membership in NATO has been on Ukraine's wish list since the beginning of the war.  Ukraine in NATO would force the US and European members into direct military confrontation with Russia.  NATO membership would solve Ukraine's manpower problem.

Expedited membership in the EU would give Ukraine access to European finance, government treasuries, and European markets.  That's what started the war in 2014; the Ukrainian war has always been about the money for the Ukrainian government.  Ukraine in the EU would solve Ukraine's money problem.

And, finally, Zelensky's calls for more economic sanctions to isolate Russia runs counter to the aims and ambitions of the United States.  Going too far in sanctioning Russia could well result in the emergence of an alliance between rogue nations.  Russia has a large arsenal of conventional and unconventional weapons.  Iran has a network of terrorists with global reach.  What happens if the two form an alliance?  Would China just sit on the sidelines or would China want to control such a potent malevolent weapon of nuclear armed terrorists?  And there's absolutely nothing the United States could do to counter such a threat.

Details: Western officials have said Kyiv's proposal focuses on arms and the easing of restrictions on the use of long-range missiles.

Ahead of the Biden-Zelenskyy meeting, senior US and European officials familiar with the plan's outline said it did not offer a clear path to victory for Ukraine, especially as Russian forces slowly but surely win on the battlefield.

"I'm unimpressed, there's not much new there," one of the senior officials said.

The WSJ noted that the United States and Ukraine are at a decisive point in the war, without a common vision. The division between Kyiv and Washington comes at a time of disagreements between the US and its allies over the lifting of restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range missiles to strike Russia.

The central element of the plan is that the US should give Ukraine the green light to use weapons as Kyiv sees fit, Finnish President Alexander Stubb told the media in an interview.

For months, Biden has refused to budge on Ukraine's long-standing request to lift restrictions on the use of long-range missiles in Russia.

The US position has met with fierce opposition from a number of European leaders, who believe that after two and a half years, Ukraine has earned the right to confront Russian troops unhindered. Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly this week, some world leaders were visibly disappointed.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, however, has shared Biden's reluctance to allow the free use of long-range missiles.

In his address to the UN, Zelenskyy warned of future Russian threats to Ukraine's energy infrastructure and nuclear power plants.

US and European officials say that behind the scenes, Zelenskyy has been putting forward a maximalist proposal in the hope that the US and its allies will give Kyiv everything it wants.

Senior Biden aides who have travelled to Kyiv in recent weeks and been briefed on elements of the plan are also said to be disappointed by the current state of the Ukrainian framework.

They had hoped to hear something tangible that the Biden administration could support, as it has only four months left in office.

A senior State Department official said on Tuesday that Ukraine's plan broadly covers Ukraine's needs on the battlefield, political changes within the country, and the economy.

But US and European officials said the most elaborate part of the plan is the first phase - arms-related requests - while other key elements are less specific.

Volodymyr Zelensky appears to be appealing to an ignorant American public who can be easily influenced by propaganda.  After all, the United States selects a President based upon the endorsement of entertainers and comedians.  Zelensky can relate.

Zelensky obviously supports Kamala Harris because she promises to give Ukraine whatever they want.  And Harris would become President using Soviet style politics.  Soviets of a feather do tend to flock together.

But doesn't Zelensky's Victory Plan require starting World War III?

Not necessarily. I doubt that Putin has a death wish or really wants to destroy Mother Russia.

Well, if Russia would fold because NATO chooses to fight then what's the hold up?   According to the notion that Putin doesn't have a death wish, the war in Ukraine could be ended very quickly by simply bringing NATO into the fight.

(The idea that Putin doesn't have a death wish is a core tenet in Zelensky's 'Victory Plan'.  Zelensky's plan relies on the threat of World War III to stop Russia.  But what happens if Zelensky is wrong?)

Once Trump is in office, he will work with Zelensky to urge European members of NATO to pony up their fair share
