Umerov says defense firms from US, EU, Turkiye ready for joint arms production

Shouldn't we be absolutely certain that Ukraine will be an ally before supporting their weapons industry?
Ukraine is quite capable of building its own advanced weapon systems. Ukraine only needs NATO and the United States to supply the volume of weapons and munitions. While we empty our stockpiles, Ukraine is improving its own capabilities. And that's not a concern?
BTW, this is actually two seeds from the same source. Soviet style news reporting tends to avoid verbosity. Perhaps that's a consequence of not needing to influence public opinion. It is what it is and there's nothing you can do about it.
03.10.2024 05:39 Ukrinform -- The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, declared readiness for joint development and production of weapons with the largest defense companies from the United States of America, European Union, and Turkiye.
Umerov announced this on Facebook, reports Ukrinform.
The minister expressed gratitude to international defense companies for investing in Ukraine.
"I thanked them for their investment in Ukraine and the invaluable experience that we are taking on board, as well as for their contribution to our struggle. Together with foreign partners, we have already started the production of 155-mm ammunition, but this is only the beginning," he said.
Umerov called on defense companies to further strengthen cooperation.
"Localization of production, co-financing, establishing joint ventures - we are open to various formats. We are ready to jointly develop and produce missiles, drones, robotic systems and EW equipment," he emphasized.
According to the defense chief, parallel work is underway to streamline bureaucratic processes in order to produce "more and faster".
"Combining the experience of large companies and our Defense Forces is the way to victory and peace in Ukraine and Europe," Umerov noted.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov discussed with the head of the Defense Committee of Finland's Parliament Jukka Kopro the possibilities of establishing joint defense enterprises.

MoD showcases Ukraine’s unique war-tested weaponry to international partners
That’s according to the press service of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
Among the exhibits were the Stuhna anti-tank missile system, the Bohdana self-propelled artillery system, armored vehicles, and robotic systems such as kamikaze ground drones and mine clearance vehicles.
Partners were also shown UAVs, ranging from small FPV drones to large uncrewed systems capable of reaching deep into enemy territory.
Officials from the Ministry of Defense and foreign partners discussed prospects for cooperation in the defense sector. During the presentation, Dmytro Klymenkov emphasized the importance of investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
“We have unique products already tested in combat scenarios and finalized by developers to a specific standard. Global arms manufacturers and investors are encouraged to collaborate in enhancing our defense capabilities,” he said.
The Ukrainian defense industry has attracted notable interest from representatives of foreign governments and companies. The Ministry of Defense aims to foster these ties and promote new opportunities for jointly developing various defense products, the report reads.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the MoD has already invested in Ukraine’s defense industry a total of $4 billion, planning to engage more investment from international partners.
How long before we begin hearing about the Ukrainian threat? How long before the arms merchants call for a crash program to develop capabilities to counter the Ukrainian threat?
Betcha Turkey will be on board that gravy train.
Yep, and will probably be feeding our defense info on to their buds in Russia at the same time.
